Marking an item as delivered, when I've taken it to the buyer's home myself

Not sure if anyone can assist. I sold a mixing desk and was offering postage or collection. The buyer paid the postage cost, but then I realised, they were very close in location to where I was due to go on a short break. The buyer happily agreed for me to bring the item personally rather than post, to minimise it getting lost/damaged. Question is; how do I mark this as delivered? I know I can mark as dispatched but that is futile as it's not being posted, so will never show as delivered. Many thanks

It won't show as delivered because there is no postal tracking or collection code.   You cannot do anyhting about that but as long as it's marked as dispatched the money will be released after 14 days.

You can't mark it as delivered as your buyer paid for the postage.

The correct way would have been to cancel the sale and relist it as collection only and the buyer would have been sent a collection code which you could have processed when you delivered it.

As long as your buyer is happy with the item, just leave it as dispatched and hope they don't open an INR.

It will also mean waiting longer for your payment to be released.

You should not have done that.  Not only can you not mark as delivered, so will have to wait for payment, but you have no evidence of delivery to defend an item not received case. 

Hopefully you will get paid in 14 days.

It suited me and the buyer to come to this agreement and I will take a
photo of it in situ and ask the buyer to leave positive feedback.
