MC011 Restriction

Hi eBay community,

I'm in a desperate situation and hoping for advice or similar experiences. Here's what's happening:

  • 6+ years account of good standing. Barely ever sold things before, but just sold three items in the past two months or so, and listed one or two more.
  • Wsa hit with a sudden MC011 restriction over a week and a half ago. No clear explanation or specific issues cited and no buyer complaints.
  • My funds seized, so not only can I not sell inventory, but I can't get payouts for completed sales.

My Actions:

  • Engaged in multiple communication rounds with various eBay reps
  • Provided all requested information, often multiple times, including:
    • Auction house invoices for proof of ownership
    • Tracking links where applicable
    • Courier receipts and communication screenshots for non-standard man-with-van deliveries
    • Buyer messages confirming receipt

eBay's response has been incredibly frustrating. I've been getting generic replies that don't address my specific situation at all. They keep asking for information I've already provided and sometimes make conflicting demands, like asking for business registration when I'm a private seller (who's literally sold about 3 items). There's no acknowledgment of the documents I've sent, and their communication is all over the place with no clear guidance.

This whole situation has really taken a toll on me. I'm under a lot of financial stress because I can't sell things I was hoping to or access my funds. I've emailed, called, chatted online, DM'd on instagram and TikTok to no avail, and it's gotten to the point where I'm about to close my account just to get my money back. I was hoping to start a real vintage furniture business, on eBay and elsewhere, once I'd sold a few more items, but this has thrown a huge wrench in my plans.

I've only sold a handful of items but I was a responsible, ethical seller. And this opaque, frustrating process is deeply disappointing and seems designed to prevent resolution, driving me from the platform.

Questions for the Community:

  • Has anyone successfully resolved an MC011 restriction? How?
  • Any tips for getting through to someone at eBay who can actually help?
  • Is closing my account to release funds my best option at this point?
  • Any advice, similar experiences, or insights would be incredibly appreciated. I'm at my wit's end here.

Thank you all in advance for your help.

That’s exactly what is happening with me however they have put a hold on all my funds which i desperately need. They are refunding buyers left right and centre even though items were delivered. I’m going out of my mind. I’ve invested so much time and money I really can’t lose this money.

To be honest, I can't see you coming back from this. You've managed to get more negs than I've managed to get in 20 years.

I think that you'll end up with a selling restriction, but may still be able to use your account for buying, and that any payments that eBay currently have from your sales may be held for up to 180 days.

MC011 Restriction

Dear everyone,

I have provided tracking ids of the order and no order is in pending up to the due date but still I am facing account restriction. Can you please explain how do I remove my account from restriction?

I'm not sure that your account will recover. Glancing at your feedback, it looks like you were selling lots of perfume when registered as a private seller (a private seller is one who is just selling off their own personal items such clothes from their wardrobe, bits from their loft/garage etc., they don't have multiples of branded perfume to list), and some buyers have called it out for being counterfeit.

Your really low feedback score and comments indicate that your seller performance metrics may be below what eBay consider acceptable, you can check them here:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/selling/monitoring-improving-seller-performance?id=4785&st=3&pos...

You currently have 7 live listings, so can't have been permanently restricted from selling.
