After nearly 20 years of buying and selling on this once magnificent platform 

I have have now requested for my account to be deleted 

It is now overrun with con men and scammers 

ebay is actually facilitating this type of behaviour even when provided with proof 

until they start taking serious action against these people this platform will only get worse

Have you started your account closure?

If you haven't, it should close pretty quickly. I'd make sure that you don't want to keep it open for buying though, or in case you change your mind and want to sell something in the future, then have to start from scratch. As I'm sure you're aware, an account with 760 feedback has more provenance than a brand new selling account.

Ebay in general isnt too bad.

I find about 1% of transactions go wrong for one reason or another.

Ebay as with any business wants to make money so they are forever coming up new ideas to do that.

Some good and some bad.

Simple delivery is a disaster and I see Ebay losing money on it before they realize and reverse it.

Overrun, I cannot agree and the last 250 feedback you left contained only 2 negatives and that's going back more than as year.

Why close your account?

Just stop using it.

If (and I know it’s a monumental ‘if’) but if things improve, you still have an account, with good status, which you can use - without jumping through all the hoops of (re)registration.
