Hi everyone and happy New year 😉
Why is it that EBay allows you to buy something off this site, then when you don't need it anymore and try to resell on eBay again, it gets removed?
Couple of weeks ago, I had wifi 6 installed with an error hub, but before that, I had an old standard hub. About a year ago, I fitted a Ring doorbell, but because I live in a flat on the first floor and my front door is on the ground floor, my wifi signal wasn't strong enough to reach the front door for the ring. So I bought a couple of wifi extenders, which weren't very good, until I did get one by Tapo which was brilliant.
Anyway, now I don't need them, the two that weren't very good I stuck on eBay a few months ago, but yesterday, got a message off eBay to say they'd been removed, due to safety/recall policies.
This item item may not be sold, because it has been recalled for safety reasons. To learn more about the recall affecting this product, please visit the website at: https://ec.europa.eu/safety-gate-alerts/screen/webReport/alertDetail/10012013
Now I've got no issue with the removal because it's a safety issue, but what bothers me, is the fact that the item was recalled back in 2023, so why was I allowed to buy it in the first place and given this was recalled in 2023, why the help are there still hundreds, if not thousands of these still available to buy? There are sellers on here selling hundreds of these things, but the first person they come to (again, which is fine), is a private seller selling two of them rather than the big bulk sellers.
Not sure if posting links to listings is allowed on here, so if you need to see it, just type wifi extender in the search and it's the one that sells for around £8.99.
Perhaps with hindsight, the price should have said a lot really, because the one that was really good and did the job was over £50.
