List by 30 Nov. Sell by 15 Dec 2025.

Given that it is usually buyers that pay for simple delivery postage I don't understand this campaign!
Have you got a link to the whole announcement?

here it is
Basically - oddly worded but if you list under £10 with Simple Delivery Buyer Pays selected - it will list the item as Free Delivery.
So the buyer doesn't pay either.
I think?
If that is the case - clearly ebay haven't learnt from offering sporadic 80% off Selling fees for Private Sellers.

More eBay smoke and mirrors, surely?
The offer applies to NEW Private sellers only, but in order to be aware of the offer you have to already have an account on eBay. And if you've already got an account then you're not a New Private seller...

So despite the headline implying that the seller gets delivery costs covered, it is actually the buyer that gets free delivery. I suppose that means the overall price can be cheaper.
For the seller to get the delivery costs covered they would have had to have rules that said the seller lists as seller pays (which shows as free delivery to the buyer) and then the seller doesn't actually get charged for the label.

I understood that to mean it applies if you are new to selling, not necessarily new to eBay... presumably there are lots of buyers who might be tempted to start selling by incentives like this.

You may well be right @davrman but it doesn't depend on your, my or anyone else's understanding - it depends on eBay's definition of the word 'New', and as no definition has been specified it means, in true eBay style, whatever the reader wants it to mean.

A well organised and competitive business runs itself and shouldn't need such incentives to get by.....

My new favourite eBay quote:
"How will free delivery help my items sell faster?"
"Postage costs are a key consideration for buyers when deciding to purchase an item. By offering free delivery, your item has an advantage over other listings with higher postage costs."
Yes, eBay, that's why we want Custom Delivery as an option!

They might regret it when they find out what selling on eBay entails these days...
I would think if you were a complete newbie, by the time you'd signed up, verified yourself a million times, uploaded your grandmother's dental records, added payment details, worked out how to list an item, read all the T&Cs, and grappled with Simple Delivery... there might be about five minutes left to sell your item before the promotion ends... 😂

Hi. @department28 They should have just copied the unmentionable competition that begins with "V" and wasn't started by Richard Branson (it wouldn't have been the first time) and offered new buyers a free delivery or two. It only lasts until the middle of December as well.

its the tail (Vinted), wagging the dog (ebay).
ebay instead of being the innovator of online auctions, are scrambling behind Vinted
