Is it worth selling outside of the UK?

Hi there,

I sell most (if not all of my products) in the UK only. However, does it give your items more views when you expand where you are willing to post to?

However, does it give your items more views when you expand where you are willing to post to? - I sell watercolour paintings, modern and antique. 

I ship worldwide on the UK Ebay site these listings are available worldwide, used to use US ebay before we were all forced to sell on the UK site and I havent even attempted to list pictures in US site. If you are selling smaller items it may be worth have a go at setting up a US ebay account.

At times ive used the French site and sold all of zero items (All listing is French).

The best way would be to try it and see. As some will tell you they have good success selling internationally,  and others may have experienced the odd pitfall which can also happen with a UK posting.

Personally,  I only post within the UK, because  for any case of  item not as described , the cost of return for me and selling low value items would probably be more than the cost of the item.

If you think you're items may have an interest for international sellers, give it a go, it doesn't cost any extra for listing them worldwide.

To sell internationally you need to show this in your Site Preferences on your homepage here:

On the left sidebar select Postage Preferences, scroll down to Exclude Postage locations and select the countries there you do and do not wish to post to. There is a little box at the bottom of that list to add this to any item listed , with no bids.

Be aware, if you are a new seller, or one returning after a long break, you may not be able to sell internationally straight away.
