Insertion fee on free listing

I created a listing, which Ebay took delight in telling me was free. It even specified in the confirmation page "Fee £0.00".

After poking around trying to work out how on earth I could charge a sensible postage fee and finding I couldn't, I cancelled the listing.

Now, a month later, I receive an invoice for 35p "Insertion fee", with no details. What are they playing at?

No, I wasn't over quota, I haven't sold anything for at least a year.

Is this an actual error, or is Ebay turning us over again?

Actually, it seems it was a foul-up. I contacted Ebay using their web chat, and the person there said it was a mistake and has cancelled it. So sometimes things do work!
