Sound like the seller has listed with postage via Global Shippig Programme. They post item to GSP and then they send on to you. They are known to charge high fees.If seller didnt use gsp you would just pay the vat and there postage charges, so might be worth asking them about it.If the item is under 2k they could send with Royal Mail international tracked.

These are import fees not postage charges.

if the seller used eBay's Global shipping, apart from the import charges there's the postage charges, which are usually very high.
Pitney Bowes who run Global have their profit to make, so buyers are paying for the cost of a middle man.

There will be VAT, duty, international postage and courier processing fees.

That fee sounds about right that you have been quoted. Sale price £300 depending on item duty at 12% = £36, Vat at 23% on £336 = £77 Total extras on this = £113. (this doesn't allow for the postage cost which would also be added.)

Thanks. There is an additional postage charge of £22 in addition to the Import Fees.

Thanks for getting back to me. That is just a sales killer. Can't see myself buying anything from the UK again.

I never buy when Global is involved because their charges are exorbitant and then there can be the repacking problems.

So I just got the same item sent over from Stock X in the US for £250 including all fees and duties delivered to my door by courier 11 days later. That's over £100 cheaper. and a week or so faster.
