I want to pay the Buyer Protection Fee

Hello,

In an effort to get more than one sale a fortnight I thought as a Seller I'd pay the protection fee instead of the buyer. I'm sure I've seen a button somewhere telling me I can do this; 'Seller pays BPF'  but typically navigating E-Bay for what you are after is like wading through porridge, I cannot find it.

If I'm mistaken I'll do my listing, see what E-Bay charge as a BPF and add a note saying  I'll refund it.

I was considering removing the BPF from the cost of the item on the invoice (next time I see one)  but suspect if I reduce the price of the item E-Bay will reduce the BPF accordingly.  I'll reduce it further and E-Bay will follow suit till I eventually charge £0:00 for an item just to spite E-Bay and declare it a victory.

OK I take a loss but due to this BPF today at the Post Office I was greeted with; 'Hello Stranger.'

So today's questions are ;

Is there a Seller Pays BPF button bearing in mind I only use 1st class Royal Mail.

If not then soon (hopefully) my account will be littered with partial refunds on every sale, will this affect

my seller rating?

Thanks in advance for any help and a clear step by step guide to the relevant 'Buyer Pays the BPF'  page (if indeed one exists)  would be greatly appreciated.

Meanwhile:

Again I moan that as I always post first class (but ask for 2nd class postage) I have no need to be protected.

I get a proof of delivery track number. If it is broken (very very rare ) or lost  in transit (even rarer) the Royal Mail have refunded me.

But that is just me pumping my gums about this E-Bay scam - you can ignore that last bit.

I think you're confusing the BPF with Simple Delivery; they were introduced around the same time.

Where private sellers are concerned the BPF is always paid for by the buyer. However, private sellers can choose to offer "free" delivery by selecting "seller pays" for the Simple Delivery postage/shipping label.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

You can't volunteer to pay the BPF.

Whatever price you set, Ebay add on the 4% + 72p - there is no button to push to say you will pay the fee.

Obviously, you can reduce your starting price or offer free postage.

I want to pay the Buyer Protection Fee

Iv'e never seen any posts about seller paying the BPF but if you want to refund it you could just put it in cash in with the item.

When i sold i used to list as BIN's with p+p included (not free !).I would often get someone buy multiple related items that could be posted at the same price as 1 or 2.

I would just put the over payment as cash in with the items. It helped with feedback and i got many repeat customers for doing so.
