I have been selling my unwanted clearout items to reduce the household clutter and I have been either using Royal Mail Tracked 48 or Yodel for the cheaper bits. I find Yodel so easy as I could walk to the local convenience store and drop it off whilst having a chat with the family that run said shop. Royal Mail meant a drive to the Post Office. Why do Ebay want to stop me buying my postage label from Yodel? Evri drop off is futher away than the Yodel drop off point. Are Ebay trying to do our little Yodel drop of local stores out of the little amount of money they make for taking in all my cheaper parcels?
I will have to try and get on with it and see how this all pans out but if I find it's hard work with this AI calculating everything then I will probably sell my items elsewhere. Been private seller on here since early 2009.

Not many are
its restrictive (only two carriers) and expensive if you don’t opt in to both carriers
Ie you get penalised financially (ok your buyers do) if you switch one off
when there are very sound reasons for sellers and buyers to have one switched off (99% evri)
for starters
I have switched evri off as their standard of service is inferior to RM and the price for a Royal Mail small parcel 1-2kg is going to be 4.27 when RM will be charging 3.45
where’s the rest going? Because I’m sure RM won’t be getting paid by eBay 4.27
I’ve not seen any benefit to me as a seller with SD directive
biyers will certainly see no benefit either if they’re forced to pay extortionate and questionable postage prices at least my ones (that’s when I get them as ebays been as dead as a dodo sales wise for a good while)

I’ve used evri too and had in the main few problems but had a lot more problems with them than with RM
Like you I’ve never had a problem with yodel except the odd late delivery when I’ve used them as their pricing ain’t bad
But as I said I object to the extortion with pricing if you deselect one carrier
Good luck if you do try somewhere else

'But as I said I object to the extortion with pricing if you deselect one carrier '
Yes, being charged extra if you deselect one courier is incredibly unfair!
I'm sure most people are far from happy about being restricted to just two courier/postage options, especially when one of them is Evri...
Evri are known to be very poorly rated, with many buyers & sellers having had bad experiences with them. eBay will be well aware of their reputation, so it seems the only conclusion we can draw from this, is that eBay are happy to 'sup with the devil'... 😈
We can only hope more options will be added in due course, although it will never be a satisfactory alternative to arranging our own postage!
