Hello, I havn't listed any items for about a month, but listed an item today. To my surprise, when I looked at my own listing, I noticed that eBay had populated it with alternative suggestions of similar items from other sellers, some of which are cheaper than mine! I don't remember this ever happening before? Whenever I have looked at my own listings, they have always been clean, and free of adverts about other items competing with my own for-sale items! What's going on? How can I remove these unwanted apparitions from my listings?

You can't remove them, it's how it is I'm afraid

When did they start doing this? I'm positive that last time I looked at one of my own listings, it wasn't flooded with adverts about alternatives? How am I supposed to sell anything if potential buyers are being shown cheaper alternatives on my own listing?

Definitely since last year, there's a thread in the business seller section about it. Loads of annoyed sellers that were paying to promote with competing ads on their listings.

Ok, I've been seeing this on business seller listings for a while, both on eBay and on Amazon. But I'm pretty sure I havn't seen this on my own listings, as I'm a private seller, or on other private seller listings!

I'll check my bookmarked sellers. See if any of them are still listing.

Oh, wow. Carousel Banner after carousel banner and then a neverending thumbnail layout.
I wonder if they've done it to Music Magpie too.

No wonder no-one's buying any of my items anymore, they must be getting overwhelmed just wading through my listings!

It stinks but that is ebay for you . To be honest I always google items to see new price and your check valve is available at many outlets for less than your price even with free postage .
Stopped all activity on eBay until I see if this latest fiasco lasts . I refuse to pay buyer fees ! I won't pay Amazon to buy on their platform and that goes for eBay too !

What do you mean buyer fees?? Are they charging buyers extra fees?

Not just overwhelmed, but if someone has the same coin advertised on your listing cheaper than you then 99% of the time it's only going to finish one way.
That creates a buyers market, where any sellers desperate enough will all try to undercut eachother just to get some cash.

Sector dependent, yes. It's mid rollout. There are a few threads about it, one trying to add every section as they are added. Then there's delayed payments and finally simple delivery.
All for their best friends, the private sellers.

Exactly! How does this help eBay sellers? I'm hardly selling anything at the moment, and now I know why!
15-02-2025 6:02 PM
That's the best thread. Users are adding to it because eBay aren't giving updates, at least none anybody seems to find.

Fast approaching the point where on items under £20 sellers will be loosing money or giving it away for free , might as well just give it away on Freecycle rather than line eBay's greedy pockets !

From the posts today it looks like people that were waiting and seeing are starting to jump ship. Not surprised. Some of the stuff they are doing is suicidal.
I am honestly wondering if they are near insolvency and are doing a last desperate cash grab.
Could explain delayed payments.
As they aren't regulated that way in the UK if they go under nobody would be able to claim.

Sorry but you're wrong ! I have never viewed any coin listing but when I click on the OP's coin listings I get loads of same and similar on his listing page .
