First off, hope you are getting well looked after and the complications are only minor. Your health is the important thing.

I'm guessing you put your store on holiday, if so just message the 15 buyers apologising but give them the honest reason, no need to go into detail but just you've had an op (hence the holiday) and issues beyond your control means you cant get their orders out. Easiest option would be to offer a refund and if they accept that just cancel using buyer asked to cancel, or if they are willing to wait then it might mess up your account slightly but again its better focusing on your health right now. Or get a family member to try and post the ones who offer to wait if you can get somebody.

Main issue though is to focus on your health, eBay is way down on the list but give your buyers a heads up, if I bought something from an account that was set as away I'd not be annoyed if they sent a message 2 days before they were meant to ship saying sorry I've had further issues and in hospital would you like a full refund.

Is there anyone you can trust to get your orders out for you? That would be the best solution.

If not I would email the customers explaining. If it is only going to be a couple of days you are in hospital ask if they mind waiting. If it is longer you will have to cancel the orders.

Most customers when you explain will be understanding about your situation.

There maybe an impact on your account with late deliveries or cancellations. But don't worry about that for now your health is more important.

I hope you are better soon.

I have a big problem

This is my own personal worst nightmare. I am approx 10 fags & 2 whisky's away from my 2nd heart attack & the thought of being whisked away under blues & two's with 30+ orders left to pick & post fills me with dread.

When it happened to me the first time I managed to get a relative to fetch my tablet on which I was able to put my shop on holiday mode & I then emailed all the unfulfilled orders to explain my situation & offer them the option of waiting or refunding. Without exception they were all understanding & not at all sceptical. All opted for cancellation & refund with most re-ordering when I was back up & running.

I'd hate to think what would happen if I were incapable of orchestrating my relatives to help facilitate me in sorting it all out, there is no one I could rely on to do it off their own back. If I were totally incapacitated for much more than just a few short days then I feel eBay's current policy's would wipe out my account & prevent me from ever doing business here ever again.

But then if my next heart attack kills me before I hit the floor it wouldn't matter would it, at least not to me 🙂

I have a big problem

Good Evening Jon

May I wish you a full and fast recovery.  I know what you are going through as I have suffered with Prostate problems and a good friend has been diagnosed with Prostate cancer and is awaiting the operation that you have had. My best wishes to you in your ongoing medical problems.

In the full scheme of things eBay disappears into insignificance.  Try and get a friend or relative to look after your sales until you can take over again. Failing that when you feel up to it message your buyers and explain what has gone on and I am sure that they will understand. You could also try contacting eBay and explaining the situation to them. I am sure that they too would be sympathetic and arrange something, such as removing any damaging defects on your account etc.

Best Wishes to you.

Dingo

Finally get yourself right, which I hope will be very soon.  Best wishes in your continuing battle.
