Hi there,
I want to sell my brand new Vacuum cleaner for around £550-570. (Parcel Size 78 x 47 x 28cm). I know I need the Signature on delivery as the value is over £450.
Royal Mail - they only accept parcel size Maximum length is 60cm.
Parcelforce does not provide the Signature on delivery (even though their quote said their Service provides the signature, they will not. I have shipped a few parcels via Parcelforce, and I have double-checked the proof of delivery; there is only the photo).
Evri / Yodel - I checked some reviews with them, and I have no confidence in their signature service.
I don't know what other choice I have. Do any recommendations, please?🙏

Very few carriers will provide a signature service these days. They rely on tracking and photo proof of delivery (this is accepted by eBay). Why do you need the signature?
Your best bet for that value item would be Parcelforce48. They will collect from your home and bring the label with them if you book through the Parcelforce website direct, also less chance of it being thrown around in couriers car/van.

If the order has a total cost (including postage costs and any taxes) of £450 or more, you're required to purchase signature confirmation to be protected if a buyer reports an item not received or opens a payment dispute.
Thanks for your reply, I need the signature confirmation about the seller protection policy as the item is over £450.

They need a signature because of this policy.
If the order has a total cost (including postage costs and any taxes) of £450 or more, you're required to purchase signature confirmation to be protected if a buyer reports an item not received or opens a payment dispute. If you are posting internationally, see the signature confirmation thresholds table below to see if signature confirmation is required for the shipment.
I would try UPS through parcel2go they offer signature service.

My apologies, I hadn't come across that requirement before.
It might be worth also considering offering Collection Only.

Try DHL. They take parcels larger than yours and, when I've used them previously, signature was an option.

Local collection only. Reduces number of buyers, but safer. Make sure you have the 6 digit code from the buyer before handing over.

Likewise, I'd suggest local collection, but only if you are familiar with ebay protocol in this respect (otherwise you could find yourself scammed). Your problem, in not being able to use Parcelforce (?) or RM, is the loss or damage compensation value - other services offer include less value and charge more to enhance it (it's an 'up-sell'). Collection avoids this issue.
Otherwise, if, and only if, it is properly (securely and substantially) boxed you might use UPS via an on-line 'service reseller' (Interparcel, Parcel2Go, etc.).
If you are reliant upon suppliers (undamaged) original boxing (generally a bit flimsy) you can overwrap using strong polythene waste bags and tape or using commercial 'cling film' or several wraps of the domestic stuff (tape the loose ends wrapping all the way around, tape to tape).

Hi,
We had dispute with customer -- who said item not delivered even dpd photo shows otherwise. Ebay refunded customer money. According by ebay if no signature - no other evidence is fit for purpose. So certain characters can check your listings for items thats over 450£ and shipping is with services that does inlcude signature ---- etc dpd ---- for them its free item.
Interestingly ebay offers labels with out signature. When you try to ship first service is dpd.
So beware no signature - for items over 450£ if its disputed ebey will not accept anything less than signature.

Correction " the services that does not include signature"

Good Evening VV
Make it Collection Only that way you are covered and you can also demonstrate that it is in full working order.
If you go down this route just ensure that when it is collected the buyer brings his phone with him and shows you the QR code, which you will need to scan and show eBay.
If you post an item of that value then it could lead to all sorts of problems.
Good luck
