Long term business seller,
Have received my first 'Private Seller' account order for a listing with the old seller supplies postal options pre simple delivery coming in and I cant see any difference.
How do I tell if Ebay have made it Simple Delivery?
thank

"Flat rate postage (paid by buyer)" appears instead of the cost of postage on your listing page

Hi fatbobfan, thanks for your post.
To add to the advice above, once the item is sold, you'll receive a prepaid delivery label and QR code and you won't need to buy your own label separately. Also, when you're listing the item, you'll see the Simple Delivery option when creating the listing.
Thank you,
Marco

That's true marco@ebay but it won't be obvious that this is what's happening, because, if you just proceed as you normally would have, pre-SD, there is nothing to alert you that you should not be doing so.
It seems to be incredibly easy to pay for postage separately, as you always would have, only to find out later that SD had come into effect. If you're going to insist sellers use SD, you need to block off the roads to pre-SD postage, or at least make it much, much clearer that they are accessing a service which has already been paid for.
There are a number of posts on these forums from individuals who have fallen victim to this. It's so badly presented, it appears almost as if you're trying to get users to pay twice.

The listing when viewed (under postage ) will show “standard tracked delivery”
also if the sd price for that size/weight parcel shows it’s likely sd
eg it will show 3.38 for 0-2kg small parcels 48 tracked
that is less than RM charge and what a seller would put if doing own postage
you can get the price list in seller central help pages under faqs
