Hi, is anyone else fed up with this ebay buyer protection fee they add on top of sellers price?

I have been selling (and buying) as a private seller, for years on ebay, with hardly any issues. But this buyers protection fee added to my selling price is seriously putting buyers off. Personally I think it is just another form of the old listing fee, which was far more straight forward. Together with this awful 'simple delivery', which I have avoided so far by  going into 'custom delivery' which allows me to choose my own delivery options depending on the size of package, it seems ebay has become so profit focused, I am now looking to leave this platform. Has anyone else found sales have dropped since ebay added the buyers fee?

Hello gwar,

Myself personally and probably the majority of true fully honest others would agree sales are down substantially over the past few months.

I initially assumed it was perhaps due to the cost of living expenses problems but now the recent

on going saga of SD, BPF etc has compounded the issue.

Guessing things will not get any better soon.

In my humble opinion, I wonder if eBay has found things not going as they thought and bargained for.

No business, big or small is happy when there are problems and you can only let a wound bleed for so long.

If you leave the eBay platform (you are not the first and most certainly will not be the last) I wish you well and trust you will find your “fortune” elsewhere.

Good luck in going forward.

it confuses buyers seeing all these odd amounts floating around.
