OK so listing some items tonight
good news first - even though Simple Delivery is now being pushed I can opt out to custom settings and select my standard shipping rates
bad news - I have to opt out of Simple Delivery every time I list even though I am listing similar items. Really?
This is from ebay itself: You can opt out of Simple Delivery when you're creating your listing by selecting Custom Postage from the delivery options. If you'd prefer not to use Simple Delivery at all in the future, you'll need to opt out each time this programme is recommended when you're creating listings.
I mean what does that last sentence mean anyway?

I'm afraid it means the seller is billed for the simple delivery label at ebays standard tracked rate. Unless the buyer selects express delivery, then the buyer pays it.

There is no Post Office within 5 miles here and the only option is to get the postie to collect for 30p every item - I sympathise. The only option eBay give is to put 30p on every item but that's usually enough to put potential buyers off.
If you book the Royal Mail collection through eBay, which is now an option with Simple Delivery, then there is no 30p charge.

@suelel1968 wrote:H @kitchoct57, all your items as far as i can see are free delivery in 3 days. You need to search for your items as a buyer to see what they see.
You may have been switched over to SD, but you are still paying the postage and Tracked 48 will be an option.
Presumably selection of postage option is your choice if you are paying.
Does know if that is the case?
EBay will still provide a prepaid label so they will choose the postage service. You can choose to opt out of either Evri or Royal Mail (but not both) if you wish.
Alternatively, you can use your own postage service instead and then request a refund of the unused Simple Delivery label.

The buyer would get refunded the label they buy after 30 days if you don't use it and send your own way. I'm not sure if changing the tracking number is possible. Or follow Rick's advice, post 632. What a pain in the proverbial all this is!

My listings don’t give a custom delivery option, I am stuck with simple delivery only, is there a way around it?

The steps are
1. Change price to £800
2. It then gives you weight box and dimensions. You don't need to change the weight. Change the dimensions to 62, 47 and 47 which makes it oversized, too big for simple delivery.
3. Change price back to what you want it to be.
4. Then you can add a delivery method and postage price for your oversized item.

I would put it overweight also as per the workaround, that gives 2 reasons why it cannot be simpleton delivery.
Also change the price after everything else is done. People who haven't followed it exactly run into problems and can't get it to work. https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Seller-Central/how-do-you-list-anything-bigger-than-61cm/m-p/7882486...

Sad news on this front. Guess who has also gone for integrated delivery that doesn't allow you to purchase your own postage in a separate app?
I've recently shut down my Vinted selling account as well. Annoyed at myself for leaving £20 in the account for a year before doing it though, because they made money off that. Not much, but they made something and it bothers me! Lol.

This is one of my biggest gripes. I used to use the RM collection with Bring My Label. If you buy your postage through the RM app, then collection and bringing your label are free. It's cheaper and more convenient for me. But eBay doesn't care. They just want to make as much money as they can and they won't change this decision unless enough people leave the platform and it hits them in the profit margin. This is how ensh*tification works 😞

Assuming you have your own printer this is fine. If you don't have your own printer, as far as I'm aware, eBay is not offering RM's Bring My Label service.

The eBay info page about Simple Delivery says you can have RM bring a label:-
If you have a Royal Mail label, you can book a collection on eBay. Royal Mail can then collect your item and also bring the label for you if you don't have a printer. You'll need to book the collection before you create your prepaid label. Here's how:
I'm assuming this information is up to date...!

The facility to book a collection through eBay and have the label brought to you, rather then having to go to the Royal Mail website, was added recently. Some posters do appear to have experienced issues with it though whilst others have reported that it worked successfully for them.
