Having to opt out of Simple Delivery on EVERY LISTING

OK so listing some items tonight

good news first - even though Simple Delivery is now being pushed I can opt out to custom settings and select my standard shipping rates

bad news - I have to opt out of Simple Delivery every time I list even though I am listing similar items. Really? 

This is from ebay itself:  You can opt out of Simple Delivery when you're creating your listing by selecting Custom Postage from the delivery options. If you'd prefer not to use Simple Delivery at all in the future, you'll need to opt out each time this programme is recommended when you're creating listings.

I mean what does that last sentence mean anyway?

Simple delivery applies your existing listings from NOW, at least it is with mine, sold something today, despite it being listed a week ago SD has been applied. Have had to contact my buyer and apologise that I had no control over the fact that her item was being sent by Evri!

If you go to the seller hub website (switch tools) you can amend multiple listings, found this out about 2 weeks ago

It is NOT 7 April. Trust me, they are doing it NOW. Have had some real problems with this today, it has started and you have no control over it

I hope they end up in a real mess with all this, serves them right for messing us about. I am going to take all my listings off over the next few weeks, will sell elsewhere or donate as won’t be worth my while anymore

It certainly could be. Their terms and conditions allow them to change things without notice.

Yes it's nothing less than evil as far as i'm concerned. They have been making people ill for months worrying to death about it all, should have compensation for health damages. Anyone on here called Mr Bates?

You can opt out of Simple delivery low but according to all accounts your existing listings will be amended once Simple delivery date kicks in m I sincerely hope that is wrong but that us what I read on another comment and part if the official notification from eBay

Some people who have sold things today have said that it's been put on there now. One has to send Evri when he wanted RM

Official information is that they start changing current listings to Simple Delivery on the 7th, but there are posts here saying it has already started.

Unfortunately they can do that now as their new terms and conditions allow them to make changes without any notice.

My email from eBay says the 15th.

I have decided that where any listing is automatically converted, I will simply cancel the sale if it puts me at a financial disadvantage, conveying the reason to the customer.

I will try to convert my listings to the under £10 / under 100g category, but with 300+ listings, this will take ages unless I can do them in bulk and there is a high likelihood I will simply delete them all and close my account.

I cannot imagine why there isn't a £0.85 letter category in Simple Postage, apart from greed.

New listings will only have Simple Delivery from the 15th.

Current listings they say they will start changing after the 7th.

Really sneaky, alot of sellers are unable to do this Simple delivery thing
for many different reasons travel restrictions are one , disabled folks in
Particular are being discriminated against as most could go to village post
office using mobility scooter, meet a few people en route , chat in Post
Office Queue, now all that is gone😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

There is no discrimination, all private sellers whoever they are are been treated the same way.

You misunderstood the comment , disabled people cannot get to drop off
points away from their own area & why discrimination involved m any more
than other people can without public transport or a vehicle

From that post you don't actually understand the legal nature of discrimination.

If a group are adversely affected by something, that is discrimination.

& there are elements of Simple Delivery that could make things very difficult/nigh impossible for the disabled.
