Having to opt out of Simple Delivery on EVERY LISTING

OK so listing some items tonight

good news first - even though Simple Delivery is now being pushed I can opt out to custom settings and select my standard shipping rates

bad news - I have to opt out of Simple Delivery every time I list even though I am listing similar items. Really? 

This is from ebay itself:  You can opt out of Simple Delivery when you're creating your listing by selecting Custom Postage from the delivery options. If you'd prefer not to use Simple Delivery at all in the future, you'll need to opt out each time this programme is recommended when you're creating listings.

I mean what does that last sentence mean anyway?

Just tried to list some of my old books, wanted to choose up to 5kg. Only option was 2kg or 15KG. Phone wouldn’t allow custom, delivery at all, switched to iPad. Could switch (again only 2 kg, or 15KG). But rather than it telling you the price for the weight , as it uses to do, it now makes you put in a cost. I had to look up Evris web page for the price. I’m assuming the tracking won’t auto fill in anymore. They really are making it hard and it’s not even kicked in yet.

Greed, greed, greed! All they think about is how much they can make from private sellers, almost like they are forcing them to become business sellers, well it is simply not worth it for many of us

As you sell plants and seeds you could get around all these new changes by registering on a business account.

Go to collection instead of postage and then go back to postage. You can
the list the old way. (for a little while) so much for it will never be
mandatory.

No this is the thing not all of us are businesses. I am at the end of my
old junk from 3 houses over 30 plus years. The rest is going to charity.

Unfortunately this didn’t work. I can access custom delivery but it doesn’t work like it used to.

They’ve really stuffed up playing around with a live system. God help us all when they apply the changes to existing listings.

Ebay don't know what they are letting themselves in for by using Evri!!
the claims they will have to pay, for damaged, lost, delivered to wrong address items will be massive.

No it won’t Evri never pay out. Had arguments, emails, threatening letters
and I am still owed compensation- six months now.

I would never sell using Evri, and I don't buy anything on Ebay that uses Evri. Been shafted too many times.

So not only will I have to stop selling on Ebay, I guess I will stop buying aswell.

But I’m not a business, I’m retired and I’ve been selling memorabilia and other household items that I’ve accumulated over the years and didn’t really want to just bin. A lot of items are sent small envelope 85p. Looks like it’s the tip for all these items that I no longer require.

I find it incredible that this anti-user change has been approved - obviously been no real end user involvement in this downgrade- someone should be sacked!!

Hi once you get used to Vinted it is okay - much easier to list and you just choose what size parcel and buyers sort out the postage. Good Luck

Mine are all coming off tonight as I don't have a smart phone or a printer so I am another seller being shafted by ebay .
