Global Shipping Program USA to UK - Not working US seems to have been taken away this morning

Hey all,
This morning I've had several customers contact me from the US saying that even though they are watching my items, and could purchase them yesterday through the GSP they can no longer do this and all my other items that they are not watching are now no longer showing in the US.

To check this I've had somebody I know in the US  check mine, and other UK sellers to see if its just me, but it seems its everybody! they can no longer purchase and the postage option is no longer showing.
Was the US Just turned off? or taken off the list?
Was there any news, or information on this?
This is a big hit to sales as eBay is used for global sales for us.
I know the UK was taken off the international program in the US for toys a few months ago, but i wonder if this is simliar?

Just as well, nobody has a clue what's going on. Royal Mail have suspended most services to the US:

Someone on Reddit told me they called customer service and the rep said they have received a directive that sales to the US via GSP have been suspended.

It wouldn't surprise me but I'd only believe it if one of the Irish customer service told me that.

Royal Mail is pausing shipping to the US for a couple days to switch over to their new PDDP services. My guess is eBay is also taking the same temporary pause and may even have started it a little early to avoid problems.

I've just checked a couple of listings and they still go to the US via GSP, item was £70 and custom charges are £55. I'd hate to be an American who needs to import stuff atm.

With a 10% tariff it should only be £7 on a £70 item from UK to USA excluding shipping fees

Items arent made in UK though, its China, Vietnam, Indonesia so they are all sky high tariffs plus a handling fee.

The tariff % is based on country of manufacture of the goods not the import
country, so important to get them listed correctly otherwise customs
inspection will leave an outstanding amount to pay and more issues.

Anyone give me the latest conclusions on this? What if you sent all your items to a friend in tne USA , and let them post them?

As a "gift"? Why risk sending anything to the US right now that isn't a letter/card?

That would be tax/duty evasion as you’d have to make a declaration to say they were gifts and be below the threshold for that so definitely a no go. Especially if you have no idea who you are ultimately sending to. There is no sale I make on here worth impacting my future visa status for when I travel globally due to breaches in import rules even if it was a tiny chance. The rules are the cost of selling to the USA now, but all international sellers are facing the same for the same items as it’s based on the country of manufacture so even playing field on duty unless you are trying to complete with US sellers.

What about if the country of origin cannot be established (no makers mark tag etc) would we then just then state the UK?

My understanding is that if you can’t fill in the country of manufacture for the listing then it isn’t available for GSP to the USA from the UK on eBay.

This is what it now says for GSP orders. We’ll let you know when your order ships via the Global Shipping Program.

Due to US policies, import fees for this order will need to be paid to customs or the shipping carrier on delivery.

I wonder if that means that they will then return the item to us free of charge if the recipient does not pay the import fees...

That's not how GSP works.

If there's an issue after the item has been received by the GSP hub the seller keeps the money and if Pitney Bowes get the item back it's basically theirs to do as they please with. That includes selling it off to someone who then sells it on eBay themselves.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

Re: Global Shipping Program USA to UK - Not working US seems to have been taken away this morning

Even tho the thread title is shipping from The US to the UK most of the topic seems to be UK to US, so hopefully someone can help with my issue which is US to UK

Has shipping from the US to the UK been suspended I used to buy Snowboarding Gear from sellers in The US and there used to be no probelm shipping to the UK, but I've tried to buy Snowboarding Boots from 2 seperate sellers and even tho both of them do International shipping it doesn't appear to be an option to the UK anymore

Will this be getting resolved anytime soon

Have you asked your question on the US (eBay.com) discussion boards@pentastic2004?

My guess just off the top is that eBay International Shipping (the US version of the Global Shipping Program) can't handle items that are greater than certain dimensions.  If you're trying to purchase larger items, they may be ineligible for the program.
