GSP USA Postage Costs and Import Taxes

Potential buyer in USA has asked for GSP price for shipping and tariffs for an antique item to the USA. Have checked the .com website and all my listing shows is UK postcode price to GSP point in Lichfield UK…. How do I find this info please and what do I advise buyer?

What is the item number please?

The random Item I checked was not set up for GPS, if it were your Buyer could see the price themselves. So check you're set up correctly, including filling in Country of Manufacture and that it's antique.

Or if you don't want it to go GPS you could add Custom Postage for your American Buyer. With Royal Mail you will need to add any tariffs and £1.50 PDDP processing fee. With EVRI/DPD they pay the tariffs before item leaves the UK.

You need to click the "See details" link in the postage section and change the country to "United States". Note this is a "sticky" selection so don't forget to change it back. Also note that this still might not show the correct amount as many US states have a state sales tax that eBay is obliged to charge and remit at the point of sale. If your potential buyer resides in one of these states they will be charged the applicable state tax at checkout.

Your buyer really needs to start the checkout process; they should see the amount they will be required to pay before committing to payment.

Thanks for that. Have tried the “see details” link in the postage section and USA is included along with a multitude of other countries. Have tried to change it to USA only on both the iPad and laptop but can’t find a way of doing it. It seems impossible to delete the other countries. Further help would be appreciated.

You need to log out and view the listing as your buyers do.

Click on the postage details top right of the listing then, in the country/region field select United States and then click on the blue update button. You'll then see postage and import fee details for the US.

You don't need to delete anything; you just need to select "United States" then click "Update".

As mentioned this will not include any state sales tax that might be imposed; a US buyer would only see this during checkout. Also, if you haven't entered the "Country of Origin" in the listing template it will show some sort of message about needing to contact the seller. GSP items are only made available to US buyers if the country of origin field has been populated.
