I am closing down also on ebay later on in May 2025 as going to do something else. Too many silly rules now so time to move on.

Always sorry to see another one go.
Peeps used to say, why announce it? Why not just go?
But I think it makes a lot of difference, especially at the moment, to know that you, or anyone else, as individuals are all having the same valid reasons for leaving. Ebay do read these boards though not often putting their head above the parapet. If people just left, who would know? Who would care? But because we're leaving and saying WHY, it make a lot of difference not just to us (in knowing it's not just us as individuals who can't get their head around the new system), but to Ebay knowing that what they've tried to put in place is just not working for so many.
Will they change anything major? I doubt it.
But they'll know they cocked up

These changes have hit us business sellers as well, my sales have dropped off a cliff, we're 8 days into the month and I've not even made enough profit to pay for the monthly shop subscription.
Never experienced such a quiet period like this before.
Great work eBay!

I’ve not sold or bought from private or business sellers since the week before SD was supposed to become mandatory. I, like most other buyers, don’t differentiate between business/private when considering a purchase. I’ve just stopped using eBay.
SD is clearly not ready to be implemented yet and I don’t want to have to deal with the site while its in this mess. For what its worth I don’t think ebay will be damaged by this and may have planned to introduce it now so that by the autumn when serious pre Christmas selling and buying starts again it will be running smoothly and all will be forgotten. Most of those who have left will be back as despite what some say about alternative sites, for me and a lot of others there really isn’t one that is a viable prospect.

Yes - if people just disappeared without saying why, it could be for any number of reasons. This way, eBay can be in no doubt that it is these recent changes that have driven sellers to quit, or scale back their selling... and buying.
Back in the day, I remember eBay sending out surveys, asking questions like 'how highly would you recommend selling on eBay to family or friends?' I always used to give a high score of 8 or 9/10. I'm afraid that score would be very much lower now, due to how complicated & stressful selling has become - as well as all the endless fiddling around with how the site looks & functions etc.

How will they be back- for so many sellers there are almost 0 profits from sales now ?
For me personally it's not worth the hassle anymore.

Same here. One or two orders per day then zero today.

They still send out the surveys. I filled one in recently and didn’t hold back as to why I scored 1/10 for recommendation and why I wasn’t satisfied with selling on ebay.
