Hello All
I have just sold a low value Item on Ebay for £10.70. I received message from ebay advising me that a £6.09 payment was sent to your bank account. I have calculated that ebay deducted £4.61 from the final value fee. I have calculated this to be 43% fee charged by Ebay. This was today. Is anyone else having similar high final Value fees.
This is the 1st time it has happened to me. There is no way I can list Items where the final value fee is so high. I would be running at a lost on Items sold.

You are correct.
The mention of fees at 12.8% + 30p was from 9th March.

' Happened to me as well'.
Yep, it would because you were charged the correct fee, approximately 13.22 % plus 30 per transaction.
Fees recently raised by 30p to include a new regulatory fee.
They are high one cannot disagree, but still lower than auction houses, approx. 25% some to include plus VAT, and on eBay you get a worlwide audience.
Some / most sellers will calculate and include, seller fees / postage fees into their item's price, so they're not too much out of pocket.

I have stopped selling on eBay. The final value fees of 12.8% plus 30p per item are far too high. I was selling on eBay for 20 years. But now I won't. It's a rip off!!! They take all your profit away with the fees. I now use pre loved or Facebook. EBay has had its day for me.

The fee's have changed very little since day 1.
In fact it's probably cheaper now.
BUT,i feel that end prices have dropped quite a bit due to many things so what a seller gets now is a bit lower than what they may have got for a comparable item 10 years ago or so.
Hence it can appear to be "not worth it".
It all comes down to speed of depreciation, the economy, competition, increases in delivery costs and packaging materials, limited coverage (drop in views),drop in buyers interest, too much choice/options,other sites etc etc etc.

I just sold my cooker on eBay this week and eBay deducted fees of £27 out of £250.
I thought selling on eBay is now free

It is free if you do not add any optional listing upgrades, these all come with a non refundable listing fee, payable sale or no sale, and charged the second the item goes live.
Did you by chance add a reserve to that item or to the other sold? That triggers a non refunable listing fee of 4% of the set reserve.

You need to work out selling fee's before you sell so you can adjust selling price accordingly.

Basic listings and all sales (bar motors), are free for private sellers, but there are exceptions.
People need to check and not assume.
