I sold an i-phone 14 Pro max (worth around £500) and accidentally selected postage with Evri with cover up to only £25. Evri confirmed receipt of the parcel but it was never delivered to the buyer. EBay refunded the buyer £480 and took £67.80 for their fee from my account. Evri have recently confirmed they have lost the phone. Via Packlink I have only been refunded £25. I am without the phone or the money. What other recourse do I have?

None I'm afraid. You have received the minimum refund amount for the postage you selected. It shoud have been sent by Special Delivery.

English isn't my wife's first language and I'm not sure she understood the implications. As far as she was concerned Evri is a name she knew and with the added protection of using eBay, the phone would be safe. The buyer only lived 20 miles away so we would have liked the option of delivering it ourselves. That wasn't possible but clearly it would have been a lot more secure. Is sending a claim to Evri worthwhile? After all they have admitted to losing the parcel.

As you brought the postage through Ebay you had to claim through packlink, which you did and recieved the full amount you were covered for. You can not claim again.

Nope , you *did* select the postage and cover level . The fact that it was accidentally selected will make absolutely no difference to them. 🙁
They have fulfilled their part of the contract by refunding you the £25.00.
Sorry to be gloomy, but I wouldn't bother even trying.....

The only thing you can hope for is that the parcel eventually turns up and you have an honest buyer.
I would send them a message to say that you are very sorry and devastated that it has been lost but would they let you know if does get delivered.
Also keep an eye on the tracking as this will show you if there is any movement on the parcel.
You will then have to communicate with they buyer and ask them to make a direct payment to you as the case is now closed on Ebay.
