I sold an item on 1 June which the seller paid for postage using simple postage service.
I printed the label and dropped off on 2 June at a Tesco express and that was the last time the item was seen. The tracking shows it was dropped off at the shop on 2 June.
On Wednesday I got an email from eBay to advise that they have resolved in favour of the buyer (I never got any notifications before this date that something was up). They have refunded everything to the buyer and also left me a negative review.
My questions are:
1. Can I appeal against this negative feedback as the tracking shows that I did post it?
2. How can I get compensation from Evri with regards to the value of the lost item, as I was forced to use the EBay simple
postage service it isn’t as simple as if I had bought from Evri directly?
3. The email shows they refunded the buyer over £12, but he only paid me £8. Am l going to have the postage and buyer protection fee deducted from my balance too?

If the item was sold using so called 'simple delivery' your responsibility for the transaction ends when tracking shows it was accepted at the drop off point.
You should have no further involvement, no monies should be deducted from your account and you shouldn't receive any negative feedback.
The idea behind 'simple delivery is that loss or damage is covered by eBay.
I would appeal strongly to eBay customer services quoting their 'simple delivery policy.

The buyer must have opened a case or a payment dispute at some point. What does it actually state in the case? There should be a timeline of actions.
If it was a "Simple" Delivery label you should have been protected against loss or damage in transit. Also, if it was a "Simple" Delivery label you can't claim from Evri as you were not Evri's customer (eBay was).

The item you sold on 1st June shows it sold for £13.20 including the BPF meaning you must have listed it at £12.00. That means you should have received £12.00 (that is, until you were forced to refund). A seller isn't responsible for refunding the cost of the label nor the BPF as they never receive them. Are you 100% sure this was a "Simple" Delivery label? If you purchased the shipping label via eBay/Packlink it was not an SD label.

Hi @4_bathrooms,
Thank you so much for your prompt reply.
I cannot remember what I listed the item for, but I accepted an offer, which is where the £8.92 came from. The transaction summary email from 1 June that the buyer paid
Sold: £8.92
Buyer protection: £1.08
Postage: £2.45
When I view the History for the case, there is only one item on it, dated 11 June.
I understand what you are saying about not being able to claim from Evri, so does that mean that the £8.92 in my eBay balance from selling this item, won’t be taken out and it will remain in my balance?

Also, yes I am sure it was simple delivery, the email states
“Funds will be available 2 calendar days after delivery.
Since you're using Simple Delivery, tracking is automatically added to the order to help you get paid faster. Payment holds may apply. Learn more about getting paid.”

It sounds like it was a Simple Delivery label. If the refund wasn't taken from your eBay balance eBay have paid the refund out their own pocket. There is nothing for you to claim as you haven't suffered any loss.
eBay's "Simple" Delivery guidance page states:
"You can request the removal of negative or neutral feedback about delivery using Seller Help"
So you'll need to contact eBay to get the feedback removed (I'm surprised that isn't done automatically).

The item you sold on the 1st June was listed with Simple Delivery so the refund should have been provided by eBay and you retain the payment you received. The case notes should explain this.
The negative feedback should be removed on request.
