@crg_music wrote:Ive always said only send clothing in bags with them as ive seen the state of deliveries received and once sent 28 lps with them as seperate orders and had to put in claims on 3 for damage, have only ever claimed twice with royal mail. Would imagine thats about 5% damage with evri vs 0.0001 with Royal mail. I had always wondered why they didnt just charge more and improve the service but I guess thats the business model theyve chosen ie undercut the rest regardless of quality.
Why only in bags?

Because if its something that only needs to go in a bag it probably wont get damaged when it gets chucked around or left in a dustbin. In other words dont send anything that can be broken.

As everyone knows I do deliver for Evri and a lot of it comes down to individual couriers. Wit that being said half my items past 2 weeks have gone missing in the system. The changeover of ownership seems to have cut the warehouse bodies and things just seem to be getting backed up in sub depots like eurocentral.
If u use packlink tho, they pay out compensation without hesitation if an item goes missing. For now tho i have switched to inpost till Evri get their act together.

They have broken every single law with me with regard to intentional cultures with stealing on a grand scale. Funny how, now after years and two name changes, the backside seems to have fallen out of the market for them, as people have stopped buying from platforms that use them, I have not had an 'Evri/Hermes' delivery in 3-4 months when I was getting them every week.

You must be unlucky, I buy regularly from platforms and sellers who use EVRI - never a problem - for me they provide an excellent service and I wouldn't hesitate in receiving packages from them.
I suppose it depends on where you are - I can't see any reason why you would think sellers using EVRI are experiancing a stop in sales - most people have a positive experiance with EVRI deliveries in reality and those who feel the way you do have the choice as to whether you want to receive deliveries or not.

Evri, the UK's largest dedicated parcel delivery company, delivers over 700 million parcels annually.
Out of 700 million deliveries a year, it is easy to see why they would pick on you specifically and do everything they could to help you live up to your wonderful personality.

To be fair, DHL, RM, DPD, YODEL, EVRI, DX, AMAZON are all good in our area - we get to know most of the drivers and never seem to get a problem - occasionaly but only when relief drivers or depot reorganisations are happening. (parcelforce can be a ittle unreliable )
Maybe it's the area we are in but we have little to complain about

not much positivity in our area, the local courier is absymal. There is a local moan website and the biggest moan is about EVRI so not just our courier but others in the area and a lot of it is parcels being delivered to the wrong addresses. Ours just does not deliver to anyone off the main roads. You are right though we do have and choice and i certainly use it, i do not buy from anyone who despatches with them. It comes unstuck though when someone says RM (never had any problems sending or recieving with them) and then decides to send EVRI.

It makes you wonder why the difference in service levels, it must be to do with personalities of the drivers or depot staff or maybe the workload area to area. It could even be wage rates for an area, job opportunities or environmental issues.

I think you are incredibly lucky not to have had bad experiences with Evri. The ONLY positive is when they deliver to my local garage which is a Click & Collect address; they obviously can’t b*lls that up by dumping it on the forecourt.

Oh yes they can.
They didn't deliver to the local BP 24 hour garage, then told me address wasn't valid and when I pointed out it was a BP garage they stated nobody in to accept deliveries.
Never received it as they decided to send back to seller who never received it.

you think that is weird! We have a farm track that goes up and down a bit of hill and at the bottom of the track is the sign for the house. Courier took a picture of the bottom of the track (including the sign) and stated there was no house.......

Surely the government needs a regulator for delivery services, these cowboys can do what they wish at the moment.
We all know at Christmas there is going to be incredible anger again.

Of course they didn't receive it. Because, as Joe Lycett exposed several years ago, Evri/Hermes send lorryloads of clearly marked parcels to auction, rather than bother with returning them. You can probably find extracts of it on youtube if you're curious.

You're not the only one with a bad experience at the hands of Evri. They failed to deliver my parcel and marked it down as delivered on the tracking information. I've tried numerous times to get in contact with the "customer service" department, only to get an answer machine to leave a message. Despite this I've had no reply.
I'm also annoyed with DHL, as they were supposed to be delivering it and we're paid to do so not Evri.
It has been left for me and the seller to rearrange delivery, using a proper post company.
So my advice to anyone is to use the national postal carrier, Royal mail, United States postal service, Canada post etc. Whatever you do don't, for the love of god, use Evri.

I am bemused as to why the Ombudsman has not given them a "Stop Now Order"
to stop trading.
Courier services are not regulated so there is no ombudsman to complain to.
