So I have been a seller on and off her since June 2001, Over the years I have sent items recorded delivery that either never turn up , or arrive with no notification of delivery. Now someone wants to charge a buyer a fee for safe delivery, when they would have been charged that in the P&P cost. Frankly it sounds more like a scam than customer service and Ebay are also trying to force us to use their shipping option, So much for free enterprise, sound like trying to get the monopoly on delivery as well. As for hanging on the sellers cash til 2 days after delivery, really so post office goes on strike and you don't get paid, Think I may start looking to leave. So much for eBay's loyalty to us .

Just bring back the old fee structure and promotions, this is a complete mess.

Same here.
I hope there are still some reasonable people working there, with a bit of common sense ( but I am not sure now ).
Some of my listings prices can not be rounded, always show .99 or .01 ..

Yep,
similar happened many times before with companies that became to greedy and believed they had monopoly.
We will see.

The ONLY loyalty Ebay has is to themselves.

Been both Business & Private for the last 20 years & for the last 10 years I've felt more like their employee than a private business or individual, too many tweaks, rule changes & hoops to jump through AND, a continued hatred towards the private sellers simply selling unwanted possessions, the very same sellers that built eBays foundations.

..... loosing sales & leaving the platform .....
Where are they going?
I'd love to know so I could follow them.

Yeah, that's the issue in a nutshell. The biggest already have their own sites and use Amazon too.
But the next step down is too far down.
If World of Books or similar decided to open their doors to other sellers that could have serious potential as they already have the footfall. Just depends whether they wanted to.

There is no viable alternative with the footfall or monopoly that eBay seem to have, they know this hence why they're constantly tweaking stuff in their favour. I tried ETSY, briefly looked at Spock & Vinted but none of them have the platform to compete.

100%.
This is exactly how I feel after 20 years of being private seller with ebay.
Ebay politics have become DISGRACE.

Mmmmmmm - exactly, where else?
So many posts - all fur and no K........ers.
I apologise if I appear blunt - I am anyway, I hate to say.
I’ve a broken toe at the moment and it’s painful but, most of all, frustrating (so I’m even blunter than normal, my apologies).
Frustrating - and you think this is in eBay terms?
But life (eBay or otherwise) trundles on.

"(Nasdaq: EBAY), a global commerce leader that connects millions of sellers and buyers around the world, today announced it has completed its acquisition of Etsy, Inc. (NASDAQ: ETSY), which operates two-sided online marketplaces that connect millions of passionate and creative buyers and sellers around the world..."

Been using the 'click n collect' service for the last 18 months or more, has always been pot luck as to whether or not they turn up or not to collect & if they do, they more than often don't have the label with them. Too many times they've failed to turn up & I've then had to drop it off at the local PO myself which has then incurred an additional 20p per package surcharge for using the PO counter even though I booked via C&C. Ended up buying a thermal printer & doing the labels myself rather than relying on them labeling the right package with the right label once they got back to the depot.
