Ebay postage costs

I am a private seller and have been selling on Ebay since 2006.

I am now just selling smalls such as CDs and DVDs for around £4 inc postage. The buyer now has to pay around £4.30.

Most items I sell are "large letter" with RM with a £2.00 postage cost.

Ebay now want to charge me £2.72 for the same service.

So for a £4.00 DVD they are now making at least 25% profit (30p plus at least 72p)

I would reluctantly agree to being forced to use Ebay to buy postage as long as the postage charged was the same as RM prices.

Can Ebay legally force you to buy postage at inflated prices??

Rant over, as is probably my selling days on Ebay

Paul

CDs and DVDs are exempt from simple delivery but only if they are under £10

for those, once you put the price in , custom delivery options kick in (or they should do)

You have been paying postage of £2 for 2nd class post.  Ebay's price of £2.72 is for Tracked 48 post.  Because ebay will now refund buyers for missing parcels (without taking the funds from your account) they want tracked postage so it will show as deivered (or not).

As edwardian-dreams said before, if you are selling for less than £10 you should still be able to use custom postage and not simple delivery.
