Ebay payments amendments

It seems that ebay are taking some notice of complaints, as they are now saying they will make payment for items under £25 once feedback is received whether sent tracked or not. Let's hope they pick up on other complaints too and act on them. Continue to make your voice heard to those in charge.

"they are now saying they will make payment for items under £25 once feedback is received whether sent tracked or not"

Which basically means seller's may have to wait longer as buyers have 60 days to do so.

Re: Ebay payments amendments

Yeah it's only a small thing but it's an improvement. I have to wait until 16th March for payment on an item and would have received it by now with this in place.

Re: Ebay payments amendments

I read this as it only applying if you use simple delivery.

I don't read it that way at all but you never know with Ebay.

Re: Ebay payments amendments

I agree with you because in the following paragraph it goes on to say how they are changing how long you have to wait etc if you use simple delivery.

The whole announcement was about simple delivery which is probably why i read it that way. Maybe my brains just not working 😂

Re: Ebay payments amendments

it does not actually say anywhere that SD will be rolled out next week, at the moment it only mentions the changes they are making to the wait for payments etc which will be different if you use SD.   Of course i could be wrong and i am sure someone will be straight on to tell me so!

Re: Ebay payments amendments

For orders shipped through Simple Delivery, you will no longer need to wait 14 days to access your funds if delivery confirmation is not received. If an item is dispatched within 3 calendar days, we’ve reduced the payout time so funds will now be available 8 calendar days from the order date or 2 calendar days after we receive delivery confirmation, whichever comes first. This change will be live in the next week.

The way I read is this paragraph starts with and at the end it says "this change will be live in the next week".

Re: Ebay payments amendments

yes for anyone using Simple Delivery but it does not say (as far as i can see  anyway) that SD will be mandatory at that point, in fact the opposite or they would not have stated  'for orders shipped through simple delivery'.  Anyway time will tell and we only have a week to wait to find out.

Re: Ebay payments amendments

When you’re selling a single item for £25 or less, funds will be available instantly if positive feedback is received from the buyer*. This will apply on both tracked and untracked orders. This change will be live in the next week.

For a single item, so does that exclude bundles and posted in the same parcel?

Also it states... *Authenticity Guarantee, Global Shipping Programme, and local collection orders are not eligible.

All it is saying is the change to waiting days will be live next week so 8 days instead of 14 days. if you use simple delivery,

Re: Ebay payments amendments

And if you don't offer simple delivery the wait will be 14 days if untracked or unscanned or 2 days after a feedback if item is £25 or under, or 2 days after  delivery scan,  which ever applies to the order.

Re: Ebay payments amendments

We’ve also heard your feedback and have expanded the scenarios where funds will be released after positive buyer feedback is received. When you’re selling a single item for £25 or less, funds will be available instantly if positive feedback is received from the buyer*. This will apply on both tracked and untracked orders. This change will be live in the next week.

.*Authenticity Guarantee, Global Shipping Programme, and local collection orders are not eligible.

Is this for those who opt-out of Simple Delivery and continue to use their own choice of postal methods?  Or does it apply to both?

Because it follows on with... For orders shipped through simple delivery...

To get your funds as soon as possible, we recommend private sellers use a tracked delivery service. Using tracked delivery services can also provide a better customer experience for your shoppers, and for you, with sellers seeing a 50% decrease, on average, in buyer complaints and queries when using tracked delivery**.

Starting this month, we’re also introducing the option for private sellers to fund Simple Delivery labels, should you want to offer your buyers free shipping. As Simple Delivery evolves, we’ll continue to add even more features to further simplify the shipping process for private sellers and buyers alike.

Also option for sellers to offer Free Postage by sellers being able to purchase  SD labels.

Expanded  and evolving scenarios...?

It is not that "simple" if changes have to keep being implemented -it feels like an experiment on private sellers?

It does not state in the above other than " expanded the scenarios"... that this applies to SD or if it is those not using SD or both... because their next paragraph is " For those using simple delivery"...which suggests a different scenario... and discusses reducing the time wait from 14 to 8  days....so I take it as it applies to those not using SD? Or am I mistaken?
