So if I sell a vinyl record to someone for £4 it will cost the buyer £4.85? What is this nonsense? It won't be worth selling small items after Feb 4th. EBay are going to lose 1000s of sellers and buyers.

Many of those posts are from the same people, so should only count once, and many of them do not agree with you.
I have said before that the number of replies to a post is not indicative of support for the opening poster. You would have to do a lot of analysis to get to any meaningful conclusion. There is also the fact that many posts have nothing to do with the original topic, so shouldn't count at all.
Have you considered that you suspending your sales (and many people who say they will leave), may be part of eBay’s master plan and so counter productive?
I couldn't care less if you make a YouTube video, just try and make it accurate if you can.

Part of their "master plan" or not what's the answer to this stealth tax? Accept it? Bollox. If course people with disagree and digress from the topic. But that's not the main point: it's galvanized opinion as others have done. This is now in the National Press.

Got a link to the press articles? I wouldn't mind reading that

Yes but eBay has pulled me up for posting links. Apparently its against the "rules".
If you Google something like eBay new sellers rules you should find the reports.

'Yes but eBay has pulled me up for posting links. Apparently its against the "rules".'
So don't post a 'link'.
Just tell us which news site to look in.

Ok I'll put my neck on the line! Seriously I couldn't care less what eBay thinks (which isn't very much).
Check out Money Saving Expert, where Martin Lewis has issued a "be very wary warning."
Google eBay new seller fees for more.

Just search "ebay buyer's fee" and there's a few with comments - Reddit, MSE, etc

Do people think I should post a brief YouTube video? Would it help? Never done it before but I'd give it a go.

No - waste of time and effort.

Yes, definitely. Go for it. Anything that will distract you from cluttering these forums.
ps: I'm not a kudos tart, but I'm expecting at least 20 helpful votes here!

I don't "clutter" any more than anyone else. The whole point is different views. Unfortunately some people don't like that.

Made me smile - thank you for a bright moment in an otherwise bad day.
07-02-2025 3:31 PM
Oh that MSE stuff!
Try looking in the (now locked) enormothread called 'upcoming 'Buyer Protection Fees'.
The Martin Lewis stuff crops up at about comment 527........ a month ago.
I was hoping for something a bit more ground-breaking.....

The only thing that changes public opinions these days is prestige ITV dramas. Everyone knows that.

Love the idea of a 'kudos tart'!
07-02-2025 8:54 PM
What was the previous name for it? 😁

Ok I won't bother with a You Tube as people just seem happy to moan, but accept the stealth tax anyway. This problem is rife throughout society unfortunately.
I'm off elsewhere, won't be back I doubt as many of you will be pleased to know, but thanks for all of you who have supported my views.

but from what i am reading most of them are not actually agreeing with your comments!
08-02-2025 9:21 AM
nonsense, i have seen lots of comments with links attached.
