I want to create a Discussion Thread mainly for Private Sellers to discuss problems and issues they have experienced because of all the constant changes in 2025.
Please feel free to post but keep it friendly.

I stopped selling in early April this year.
The main reason was because I knew SD would not be fit for me.
Also I disagree with listings being interfered with just for the benefit of the platform.
I also experienced a huge decline in interest and sales regarding the collectible items i used to list.
As a private seller, paying to promote listings would be a waste of money. It was no longer going to be easy to deal with RM directly.
SD which has been broken since it officially launched should never have been forced on users.

The appalling communication of the changes!
-"From the 15th of April"....... but never a "to be completed by...."
-".... a staggered rollout..." But never ".....the rollout is now complete."
-Not even appearing to be aware of the existence of a "Large Letter" or the up to £20 insurance and CS totally unable to answer the "are large letters included" question!
-Having to check your listings almost daily to see if they have been "tinkered" with; that should only have happened on relisting!
- constantly changing prices to make things saleable. Down when they removed fees, or down when they added BPF. Up when they reduced BPF. Up when the postage went up.... or down... or anything to sell when they alienated so many buyers.
- Never explaining BPF or SD to buyers - how many of us have become CS agents for eBay passing the message on to buyers?
-And to add insult to injury they go and ask the US private sellers if it is something they might like to have! where was / is the consultation and when will they endless, needless, costly and badly implemented changes stop?

Thank you.
I wasn't sure where the best place would be to start the thread.

You've highlighted so many things that show just how bad it's become here.
Like I said on the other thread there has been a huge lack of transparency and decent communication.
It's all such a shame for so many users.

This is what katie@ebay said about the purpose of the Community Platform:
We want to have this board to allow for open conversations about the Community and any suggestions you may have for the Community platform.
Please make sure to keep conversations opened on this board on topic. Any threads opened that are related to general eBay feedback will be moved to the relevant discussion board. This way we can make sure your post is where it needs to be to have the best discussion possible on it.
Seeing as this thread is about "ebay fees and issues for private sellers", surely it should stay in Seller Central.

@rugbyguy1960 I have begun to dread the monthly seller update. We still need some changes, but I have got to the stage where no news is good news.
We should perhaps include what still needs to change, but please EBay, don't mess up again before Xmas.

I agree. I thought it would be best in Seller Central because there are so many different things that are wrong for private sellers on here at present, that need to be changed or made more user friendly.

The last few monthly Seller updates I've seen only seem to be little tweaks to things that were wrong in the first place.
Plus like you said, nearly all the changes that have been implemented are rolling changes that are changed and altered with little or no notice given, and very little information for users.

Hi @rugbyguy1960.
The BP fees are much improved although I still preferred seller fees and I'm sure I absorb most of it so perhaps that could be optional just like choosing who pays for postage.
The listing format is better now you can list at a price including BPF.
The offers system is better because at least you know how much you will get from the offer.
Paying fees on GSP is wrong IMO. If it's free, it's free. The Buyer should pay, so I opted out of that.
SD is not a fee, but it is a pain in the proverbial. I am refusing to use it for items where it is not price appropriate.
I might send in an invoice at the end of the year charging them for my CS services and my loyalty for which I want more than thanks.
