EBay’s prepaid label is absolute ****

Why has eBay brought in this stupid idea of having to use a prepaid payment, i have had to cancel the order and refund the buyer it’s nothing but  hassle it’s not simple it’s complicated. I had to get them to ring me so I could claim a refund and then wait 2 weeks for it,

dont change what was never broken in the 1st place.

ebay used to be great to sell unwanted stuff rather than throwing it away.

give us the choice to send conventionally or use a label

feeling really *bleep* off about this after using eBay for 19 years

NOT EVERY BODY WANTS TO USE YOUR STUPID PREPAID LABEL

I HAVE CANCELLED ALL MY LISTINGS AND WILL NOT BE SELLING ON EBAY NO MORE UNLESS THEY REVERT BACK TO YHE OLD WAY.

'Why has eBay brought in this stupid idea of having to use a prepaid payment...'

Because it makes money. Simple for eBay... difficult for everyone else.

How do they make money from it?

id rather just pay the 10 or 15% eBay fees and post manually like it was before

I hope to his effect eBay’s profits so much that they realise they messed up

This is the gist of it:-

'eBay makes money from Simple Delivery by charging sellers a fee for each label they purchase. This fee covers the cost of the label and potentially contributes to a profit for eBay. When a buyer pays for shipping at the checkout, the money goes to eBay, who then deducts the cost of the label and any applicable fees.'

I think most sellers would prefer to pay fees and be able to choose their own postage methods & prices. Unfortunately, those days have gone.

I've not read anywhere that ebay charge sellers a fee for postage labels. Private selling is supposed to be fee free (unless sellers choose to cover the cost of the BPF). I thought ebay make money on SD by over charging the buyer who pays for the label.

Are you quoting from ebay?

There are no seller fees for SD.

Ebay makes its money from the difference between the cost of the SD label to the buyer or seller, and what they have agreed to pay RM or evri.

It was a google overview quote - I took it the 'fee' meant the cut eBay take when the seller pays for the label, but can see it reads much more like an additional fee is charged. Apologies for the inaccuracy/confusion.

@the_book_seekers  'I thought ebay make money on SD by over charging the buyer who pays for the label.'

That's nearer the mark... 😄
