Well finally after changing the format of their selling platform it seems every couple of weeks you have come up with the ultimate level of stupidity with this latest total ridiculous set of changes. Nobody is going to wait what could be weeks to be paid for a item they have sold who ever dreamt up this idea much be so far from reality as needing to push every part time seller off the site. I knew when they came up with the idea of free selling it wouldn’t be long before the idiots that run eBay came up with totally and ridiculous idea to claw back the money they have lost the whole senior management team at EBay must seat round a table all wearing clown costumes saying what is the most stupid idea we can come with to really get rid of half of our customers and the biggest clown wins with this idea and all the other yes people follow. Well I had started selling a few bits again but never again and will not be using EBay again to sell anything it has become a total joke of a company I hope your poor and flawed decisions finally catch up with this once great place to buy and sell has become a total joke.

Principle - We will not be bullied into and forced to accept something we all don't want or like
I am not one of the 'all' you write about and it is likely there are many like me. Maybe don't make such huge assumptions.

Surely this is not something an ebay advisor has just told you? It breaks so many rules that the 'advisor's' job is at stake.

yes eBay has many like you !... how else would it run...

Well they did. I'd made it quite clear as a private seller that I would never ship an item without payment in hand. Either way I've saved the chat and I'm taking that as permission 😀

Could you look into this please? This member was told by ebay CS that they could take a direct Paypal payment, which, amongst other things, removes the buyer from ebay buyer protection.

Payments in this new system :
Will it still say " Funds Available " but not allow you to withdraw the money until the tracking has confirmed delivery ? Or will it be similar to when you've a new account and it states that the money will be available upon confirmation of delivery or whatever it was.
I'm unhappy with this new system and the ridiculous Simple Delivery but waiting to see what happens next before departing elsewhere.
Seems we've had several changes since those " NO SELLER FEES ! " adverts a few months ago

Saving an incorrect chat has not worked for other members who get caught in policy breaches as a result of what they were told.

It's not there yet and I keep my fingers crossed that it won't be compulsory, and see if my location affects what eBay "makes" me do with delivery, drop off to Evri is just not viable.
As it is only electronics going to seller protection mode think I might list some items for sale...

I am unsure - it could be " funds on hold" or " pending funds balance"????
These " pending" funds can only be used to purchase eBay Postage labels or send refunds.... I expect once the funds are released on " considered successful delivery" it will be in your balance ready to " withdraw"...

That's an eBay problem. If they were to take action against me for following customer support advice then that would be their mistake.

Correct or not it doesn't change the fact I would never ship an item without payment in hand. I was very clear with this advisor I would cancel any future auctions where a buyer paid via eBay. I also made it clear that my payment terms would be right at the top of the listing.
Equally as per what the advisor said, this would also remove seller protection. No buyer protection, no seller protection - sounds like a level playing field to me.

It's amazing, I've never seen new business sellers complaining about being unable to access their funds for 14 days. This has worked absolutely fine for years for them, why do you feel like you're going to get scammed?
You're behaving like an absolute child.

Your logic is flawed, if a buyer has no protection, the seller has nothing to be protected against, the risk is all with the buyer.
Cancelling a sale when a buyer has paid through ebay will give you a selling defect every time, unless you are economical with the truth about the reason for the cancellation.

Advisors also told us to do the same, well they gave 2 options.
Paypal, I was told this on a callback because I questioned the fees that were refunded, they said it's okay go ahead and be paid through Paypal.
I was also told to relist the item and ask the buyer to buy again, I questioned this because of the tracking they said just send them an invoice through a tracked or signed for service, also they said it would be unlikely they would open a case if they are prepared to pay again.
This was when the postal strikes were on, along with many other sellers we were refunding quite a few buyers through INR cases.
