EBAY STILL OVER CHARGING ON POSTAGE so where is this small parcel option ? simple delivery is still not right after weeks , it did combine postage for three lots but still over charged the buyer and buyer has to claim it back but how would they know what it should be ? (i have told them ) but should not have too ? also i have noticed some very odd prices on by listings ,one was £7.27 ? i have no clue ? needs a big shake up very soon

Hi, I have been side-stepping the 'simple delivery' by going into 'custom delivery' which allows you to choose your own delivery method as before. Also these ridiculous odd amounts added to sales prices are the buyers protection fee added by ebay (another profit making exercise), which I have just complained about

Unfortunately eBay is doing away with the custom postage, when listing via desktop Simple delivery is the only option

I searched ebay over charging using Simple delivery and here I am.. I wanted to send a small cable that would usually be sent as Letter 100g @ 87p but the only option was small parcel up to 1kg @ £2.70
The sneaky extra charges on top of selling price is ebays "buyer protection". they do buyer protection anyway.. it's just a way of them making extra money, i.e. Private sellers can sell on ebay for free up to 300 items a month,, but they have to make money some how so they charge the buyer that extra protection fee.

Yep, @gwar7092 post was written in May, when some still had to option to select Custom Postage. Simple Delivery is mandatory now for all Private sellers.
If anyone is still lucky to have the custom postage option , it won't be for long, they will wake up soon, to find all their postage changed automatically to SD postage.

I have been charge £2.94 for a light weight envelope sized item which I would always send through the post office. Really do not want to use packlink as they have lost a few of my parcels and although their system states the parcel is undelivered they will not even credit the postage unless I
as the customer jumps through hoops.

You don't have to use Packlink. Nobody has ever had to buy postage through Ebay/Packlink.
Your recently sold items (Tshirt and cushion cover) have been sold with Ebay Simple Delivery as the postage option.
This is nothing to do with Packlink.
As you sell with free postage (seller pays) Ebay will deduct the postage from the buyer's payment and issue a label for you to use.
One of the advantages of Simple Delivery is that, if the item is not delivered, and the buyer opens an 'item not received' case, you don't have to deal with the claim. Ebay refund the buyer and pass the buyer's payment to you.
