THIS THREAD IS NOT JUST TO POST COMMENTS THAT ARE NOT FACT.
I hope that there are now plenty of fed up private sellers and buyers who despise these new changes.
Ebay used to be a fun place to buy and sell but recently thanks to the greed of the shareholders and Owners it's becoming intolerable.
Once my last 5 listings hopefully sell there won't be anymore listed until ebay changes and go back to happier times. I even now buy things from companies direct that I once brought on ebay which now looks over their peak and on the downward slippery slope.
Holding payments, charges, and various fees for buyers and sellers are just a few. I cannot now trust or believe what ebay say.

eBay will listen to money, not this so to speak.
But from what I'm seeing in the things I watch they are in serious trouble. The auction markets I watch are crashing and when that happens and the buyers clue into it the BIN stuff either has to drop to be marketable or has to go elsewhere to avoid the death spiral. Every which way eBay lose in that. We're just talking time now.

That's why I honestly believe they are over their peak and on the downward slope hence all the ways to make as much as they can as quick as they can from users and giving as little notice as possible.

There is a buyer board, there are hardly any posts about the BPF, most of the posters who reference it are asking what it is, they are not complaining just asking.
Complaints on the buyer board about the BPF are mostly by private selling account holders with the same complaints as are being made on the selling board.
From this I deduce that the main complainers are private account sellers and buyers are no way near as bothered as those sellers would like us to believe.
Erroneously deducing with a clear anti-Private Account Seller bias doesn't constitute a fact.
I personally don't give a flying one about posts on the Buyer Board in this instance.
It's all very well stating with regards to BPF that Buyers are "asking what it is, they are not complaining just asking" but it clearly hasn't occurred to you that, once they've been told they have to pay an extra fee, they don't need to waste time complaining to a company that notoriously doesn't listen when they can simply take their money and shop elsewhere.

My sentiments entirely.
I have noticed a decline in items being sold so it's blatantly obvious that they don't feel the need to complain as much they will just buy from elsewhere and not just on ebay.
It's just a shame that 19 years of enjoying being a user on here has been completely turned upside down in a matter of a few months.

I've even seen legitimate business sellers complain about being affected. This is obviously widespread and forums like this are the only voice we have.
27-02-2025 9:44 PM
That is very true.
It might not lead to any imminent changes but at least they can see just how many users they have affected negatively and see how many users no longer trust or believe them.
27-02-2025 9:45 PM
Business sellers will be affected as some private sellers that are leaving because of this mess were customers of business sellers using the money they got from selling that they will not have anymore.
27-02-2025 9:52 PM
So true. I am now buying less on here as I'm hardly able to sell items lately.
They need to realise this is a bad change of events that they have caused.
27-02-2025 9:59 PM
I felt like this for about a month
Zero views, or one or two, a few watchers, about 10 sales in last 4/5 weeks
im waiting for the fits and starts when you get a flurry of sales then a lull
if they don’t happen for another month probably won’t bother as much
As for fun
that died ages ago
dishonesty is such a boring business practice
27-02-2025 10:07 PM
It's really been noticeable since these changes came into play. It's the same for me. My items only get a few views now and the odd watcher.
As I am selling less I'm buying less. I've had the occasional stupid suggestion on here saying if I became a business on here it wouldn't affect me as much.
I have never been a business and never want to become a business on here.
I am a private seller and a private buyer that is now selling and buying less than I did.

Well, I suspect that the private sellers who are concerned that their buyers are being charged for a " protection" that is actually not a protection, probably are or were actually Buyers. 🤔
Which I would say skews their perspective.
27-02-2025 10:15 PM
Or validates their opinion as they can see the problem from both sides.
27-02-2025 10:18 PM
They do need to take some notice of how it affects users like me who are a private seller and buyer.
27-02-2025 10:22 PM
The only thing these changes have achieved is that they have upset and annoyed private sellers, private buyers, and those who do both.
27-02-2025 10:48 PM
They need to look at things sooner rather than later.
Sellers selling less means they will buy less. Users buying less will then eventually go on to affect business sellers. That is when hopefully realised they have really caused big issues for themselves.

Disillusioned with customer pre paid post
Customer paid for order and selected Evri for delivery.
At this time I was not aware that customers could pick to pre pay to ebay directly for the postage label .
Seemed odd that ebay think I cant press the get label button myself .
So I clicked on the get postal label tab for the pre paid label -I then got an on screen message that the label would not generate.
Rather stupidly I mixed this order in with other postal items and took order down to the post office and purchased postage at the counter - after posting it I now I find I cant leave the new tracking number or mark order as dispatched. I also cant cancel the Evir label for a refund as the payment was made direct to ebay not to me-- what a pain.
As I have already posted the item I am not as suggested on ebay site going to contact the customer and cancel the order and then instruct them to repurchase it in order to get a few pounds back on postage! Think I will keep a close eye on the tracking for the label I paid for and as soon as it shows as delivery I will then use the now available to print original pre paid label to send an empty box out to customer as I cant see why I should risk a non delivery claim if customer gets the item and at the same time is seeing on ebay that it is not showing as posted tracked or delivered.

Whose perspective?
eBay or the seller/buyers?
If the latter, I am /was both... it hasn't skewed my perspective whatsoever... the more I read the terms and conditions, and the comments of how it is affecting sellers and buyers, AND how it has affected me directly in being unable to continue to use the eBay platform safely...the more it cements that ebay have lost their way with total disregard to its " customers!"

I would contact your buyer and explain the situation especially the "empty" box and keep a close eye on your original parcel/delivery. @kev4sugars

I knew the SD would cause issues.
I only use RM Tracked 48hr on my listings for as long as I am able to.
I prefer dealing with RM direct if there was a issue.
If it comes to the point when my postage options are decided by anyone else but me that's just another reason for me to stop selling.
27-02-2025 11:11 PM
Me too - RM tracked 48 all the way, unless Parcelforce for larger items...
SD is unmanageable for me anyhow for many reasons, and I do not trust a buyer to choose the most suitable postal carrier for fragile items.
