I do not think e bay are 'anti-disabled', i think that e bay just do NOT THINK! They see the £ sign (or $) and just go ahead without thinking things through.

Not if you do not want to use EVRI or as in my case EVRI will not deliver because we are rural and our local courier does not go off the main roads!

I agree. I don't think ebay are 'discriminating' against anybody or anything.
It's just that if you, for whatever reason, cannot fit in with their conditions of use, you're not going to be catered for.
If accomodating everybody knocks 0.01% of the share price, ebay aren't going to do it........it's not 'discrimination' as such; it's just straight un-regulated capitalism.

Yes very possible, but from many many Disabled people's perspective, they will see this as an Anti-Disabled Persons measure. It's a complete change from what Ebay has done and allowed freely for (30 Long Years), and this Mandatory Decision of enforcement of 'Simple Delivery' didn't even have much prior notice before enforcement. It became like a sudden Bombshell Explosion !! - thrust upon just us British as some sort of experiment where we Private Sellers are The Guinea Pigs to test this upon, to see what it would cause. Well, it's certainly caused something, and that something is Total Mayhem !!
But, another main point, is the lack of Transparency.

Hypothetically could an individual request from ebay exemption from SD as a "reasonable adjustment" for their disability, be it physical, hidden or psychological under the Disability Discrimination Act?
Apologies in advance if this sounds facetious; I genuinely wonder whether ebay users may be forced to stop selling if the postage options continue down this prescriptive path? Surely choice offers - well choice?

In theory, a nice idea, but impossible to police. The DWP states that there are 16.1 MILLION disabled people in UK. eBay could not exempt that many, and certainly couldn't start getting into degrees of disability, etc. In addition, everyone could start using accounts in the name of their disabled granny, etc.
In any case, they've got a reasonable defence in that the perceived discrimination has come about due to Royal Mail introducing the charge for uplifting mail. That certainly isn't eBay's fault, although I suspect they have know about it all along, and hoped to have SD bedded in by the time it became an issue.

EBay and RM are working to get a solution to bring your label with collection which will be available “soon” according to eBay
imo this can’t be rocket science to sort out so hopefully soon means very soon
We’re working on bringing you an option where you can request the label to be brought to you, which will be available soon.
eta it was available before so it was a mistake to not include this in the new SD set up to now have to go back and sort out

Of that 16 Million there is a % who might sell or want to sell on ebay and a chuck of people who might be p!ssed off that ebay removed the bookable collections through the postage bought by ebay.
I started ebaying on a very small scale while I was still working. I have found it's a good way to add structure to my day and week since I was medically retired 20 years ago. I'm able to drive to the PO or my OH can yomp on foot to the next village if the car is out of action. At some point in the future I might need collection on a regular basis.
The platform has lost the collection option under SD, by omission or deliberately, because we know it used to be available/is available under custom postage. At best it is thoughtless. RM charging 30p rubs salt in the wound.

Your first paragraph misses the point completely.
If eBay was going to make an exemption for disabled users, it would need to be for ALL disabled users. They have neither the authority nor the knowledge to gauge the severity of individuals' disabilities.
They have no way of knowing which individuals may want to sell on eBay, and which of them are p***ed off about the changes to bookable collections and the upcoming charge.
If they did offer such an exemption, hordes of opportunist eBay users would start using accounts registered in the name of disabled people. 16.1 million is over a fifth of the UK population, and almost everyone will know someone who is registered.
Or.... maybe it's not really going to make that much difference.

I get what you are saying. I'm just trying to consider other options. I'm spit-balling from a compassion for potential ebayers who aren't being served by ebay RM or SD changes. I know often fall down rabbit holes 🐇
I'll take off my rose-tinted spectacles 😍

potential ebayers who aren't being served by ebay RM or SD changes.
The RM changes are none problematic, if indeed noticeable in isolation, ebay have made the problematic changes without seemingly no thought as to the consequences of their actions.
Hence Mentors scurrying round to come up with possible work arounds which cover up ebays flaws.
Certainly zero compassion to those left with limited options open to them, should they wish to continue with the platform.

It is a restrictive trade practice which nobody is happy about. You just have to read all the messages on the Ebay community.
