Just another voice to add to the many dissasfied sellers encountering the decline in sales due to the introduction of Buyer Protection Fees. Sellers are lossing business, so Ebay must be loosing reveniew.
Whoever decided to introdce such a scheme should get a newspaper round no desrepect to news paper boys and girls

You have a very simple remedy in your own hands.
You should pretty obviously be operating on a business account, not a private account.
Listings on business accounts are not subject to the Buyers' fee.

Have you thought about switching to a business account - listings are not subject to having a Buyer Protection Fee added or having to use eBay's Simple Delivery.
As eBay are now reporting sales to HMRC it's likely that they'll soon ask you why you have so many pipes as a private seller anyway, and you'll be able to claim expenses.

Hello op...Excellent products and well done on your feedback....
I hope you have kept a full record of all your purchases, Turnover, profit and loss, etc....Trust me, my friend has just been hit with a Tax bill for 2 years trading on Vinted...
He is spitting feathers and is negotiating a repayment plan with HMRC...

My sales seem to have dried up since the introduction of buyer protection fees

As both an ex-paperboy and ex-newsagent, I don't think you can say this without any disrespect. If you respected the valuable service they provide, you wouldnt even think of saying it. The vast majority of my newsgirls and newsboys were tremendously hard-working, honest, reliable, and could spell common words. How many eBay decision-makers could you describe like that?

Just go to Vinted. I held off for as long as possible and didnt think it would be much better. But I listed a few items yesterday and am getting literally 10x more views on items in one day, than I have on the same items on eBay in 2 months. Plus loads of offers, and a few sales already. And its so much easier to list, much less hassle overall.
I did not want to stop using eBay but end of the day they clearly dont give a toss and seem intent on burning everything to the ground. Plus their practices these days are not only nonsensical, they are downright sly and malicious. Just conmen running the show now. We'd be fools to not follow the money, thats what we are all here for!

At the moment! When the private sellers have gone, (which having read comments on this forum for many months, will please many), eBay will be coming for the business sellers for their money!

Because ebay (EndBay) now has one of the smallest customer bases compared to social media platforms alone ebay is like discovering the small not so pleasant slightly scammy overpriced charity shop on the isle of man. It just wouldnt exist if it wasnt for investor support. Its a dead marketplace with hints of desperation and literally consumer vs consumer profiting, you will lose your money or be mugged off. There is literally zero respect being an ebay seller today you will be silently laughed at unless you are a full sized multi thousand listing power seller.

@smarts-gaming hi Smarts, also, the seller is always right, buyer always pays for return unless seller agrees, not as described, doesn't matter.
But Vted still have BPF, SD and no lowest price postage. No relisting, "bumping" costs £1! CS is not available to chat, just on email. If you ever want to see CS using a script done 100%, contact them!
The reality is that Vted has some great features amongst another floored and frustrating model.
