Death of Private Sellers? What did we do to deserve this?

I have been on eBay since 2006, as a private seller, selling my own items. I appreciate that some sellers have abused the system (by posing as private when they are in fact business sellers), but for genuine privates like myself, what have we done to deserve this treatment from eBay? We have a buyer protection fee added on, even if we are a proven, trusted seller with 100% 5 star feedback; we have to wait for our money, 24hrs after delivery, even if delivery is slow to update and buyer has left +feedback; if we wish to sell abroad, we are now at the mercy of the GSP, which is failing to track and update the whereabouts of items and leaving sellers in a blind panic that they are going to lose the item and the money? Shame on you eBay, for forgetting your roots and treating us all like disreputables who need extra supervision!!!! p.s I personally have never had a bad experience with a private seller but quite a few with business sellers!

Just realised, I inadvertently said 24hrs after delivery (waiting for funds), its actually 48hrs!

Well it's actually 48 hours after a proof of delivery eBay accept, so their glitchy system. No proof of delivery they currently can hold for upto 14 days.

ebay have now made their system a scammers paradise, scammers can hold good sellers to ransom and the scammers know this. over the last month ive had people from zambia try to buy laptops from me, on checking feedback every feedback they left was - got refund, not working, etc. or scratched game - every feedback. I reported them to ebay as they are clearly scammers ripping off people. I even contacted loads of people who they had scammed to tell them about the scammers and how they are getting away with it. ebay did not give a damn, they ignored the decent sellers. and with this new rule making it a scammers deluxe paradise - payment after 48 hrs after delivery i decided to pack in after 6 yrs - shame on you ebay

I don't think we did anything to deserve this, its just greed, identified through at least four ways below.

1. Buyer Protection Fee - total lie, just pocketing the money

2. Holding private sellers money - earning interest/investing

3. Simple Delivery - taking control of postage and making money on every postage label

4. Hiding our listings so we need to pay for promotion to make them visible – more money

totally agree unless you pay the extra advertising fee your items are buried deep, it is so bad.
