It would be good to see everyone else's "Dear Eve" letters here. I can't post the email addresses, but just ask copilot. Feel free to copy mine, post the one you have already written. Even if you are just quitting the platform, don't tell us on the forum, tell her. It's high time we got some answers.
Dear Ms. Williams,
As a private seller on eBay UK, I’m reaching out with a simple request: please listen to the voices of individual private sellers.
One pressing concern is the rollout of Simple Delivery. Whilst we know it is here to stay the message is not being heard. Many private sellers feel it adds complexity and cost without improving the experience.
May I draw your attention to one of my listings below. Currently listed at £4.25 with £1.55 Large Letter Royal Mail postage. If I try to list anything similar or relist this one it converts to SD at a minimum £2.70 postage. You can see from the listing photo, the item is 1 1/2" long and 1/4" wide and weights less than 20 grams. It won't sell with an extra £1.15 on postage.
Private sellers are a vital part of eBay’s identity. We bring character, variety, and uniqueness to the marketplace. I hope you’ll take time to hear our concerns.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

As @goodibags already said Eve already has "...the best available metrics..." and will also be getting regular FB from the Community Team about seller's reactions on here. So she knows exactly how SD is effecting Sellers and the effect on ebay.uk's bottom line, both now and compared to ebay's projections on how these changes should be improving ebay's cash flow by whatever week number this is after their introduction.
Hence a few tweaks and concessions to get the actual numbers back on track to meet those projections.
For years ebay has wanted all sales delivered by Tracked services, both because it increases ebay's 'take' from every item sold and as it simplifies ebays response to INR claims, saving them time/money. They've tried persuasion, they've tried punitive metrics. They've also wanted to dragoon all sellers into same day / next day dispatch and tried to get that by lying to buyers about when their purchase will arrive using the Late Delivery Metric.
In all probability they also have an eye on the cost of compliance re. HMRC Sales Reporting costs, for which they introduced a new fee (can't remember what they called it) and are looking to at least break even but might be seeking to make a profit on that as well.
With this chaos producing ample smoke to cover their tracks they are moving towards all three in one fell swoop, because by still using ebay, sellers have now agreed to use SD, agreed to the limited time period of dispatch and with many not continuing to use ebay, cutting the number of HMRC reports they must compile and send. Ebay has, at last, succeeded in some long sought-after objectives, increased its Take from each transaction and reduced its costs of compliance.
But for those who are prepared to be mollified or even those few who think SD is a good idea or try to persuade private sellers to embrace the change, even though some of them are not affected by it, should remember this.
It's only the beginning. Anyone using SD has lost their right to set their own Dispatch Window and decide how they send their sales to their buyers. Ebay will incrementally increase the cost and tighten their control.
I predict they will extend SD to businesses, especially if they are not giant sites but depend on ebay for a large proportion of their sales. Will they be any more concerned to lose a few business sellers who have their own arrangements with delivery companies than they are with private sellers who need to make their own arrangements due to their needs? I doubt it.
Ebay is playing its usual game of divide and rule. Start with .uk and only private sellers. Move on to other ebay regions and business sellers. There is really only one end to this road and it doesn't include any sellers that aren't willing to allow ebay to control almost every aspect of their selling.

You'll get a response but it certainly wont be from Eve and it will be a copy and paste reply along the exact same lines as I wrote.
Yes there are issues with simple delivery, there are also good sides to it. End of the day its eBays site and you either dance to their tune or leave, I just think sending an email wont do anything as Eve wont read it or care what a group of private accounts think, she cares what the huge businesses think and the shareholders.
The whole be a warrior is a bit silly too, who are you fighting by sending an email to a random email address you found online? Its not Eve, she wont read it, its not really eBay they don't/wont care, you're fighting yourself as you're just wasting your own time sadly. Pick the correct battles not them all.

@pegr-834437well we will agree to differ.
Even in a drought it is still raining somewhere.... on another thread not this one. If it's not for you move past it. Thankyou

You do have a wonderful selection of random sayings, I will compliment you on that. Sadly it seems you are willing to exert energy on a fight in an empty room by wasting time emailing a customer service team. You be you though, good luck and if you do get a reply I'd love to see it to judge how close my reply prediction was.

I have sent a couple of emails and never had a reply.

@theelench Hi Lench, i think I will use that quote as the start to my new book!
I know you stopped selling, i haven't and I don't see SD as a bad overall business model, but it's currently worse that it was when it was first explained to us. I just want to focus in on improvement for all and I do think you are right, it will be rolled out and nowhere would put up with this dogs dinner like the British.
What is wrong with us that we snipe at each other and find that worth the effort and yet putting 'pen to paper' to raise real concerns at a higher level is consideted a waste of time. We know the forums are a waste of time, we know CS know nothing and have no power to effect any sort of change and I know Eve will not write a reply herself, but if enough people do it who knows.
What ever happened to the British. We used to call ourselves Lions & bulldogs, we fought world wars and lay down in front of race horses and glued ourselves to trees. Now writing an email is to much trouble and a waste of time. It may well be, but its cathartic and i have been busy in other ways too.
This sounds like I'm having a go at you, not the case. Just too much gin and sun! God save the King!

Love your positivity!
I contacted her twice in the last year, nothing back.
If I thought Eve read anything from a disgruntled seller I would now just simply ask if she had ever listed on eBay (without her PA’s assistance).
(And also if she was related to Rachel from accounts…)

I wrote to Eve Williams on 14th May to ask if sellers' money was held in a protected client account. I'm still waiting for a reply, either from Mrs Williams or one of her minions. Of course it might just be that they don't want to admit that sellers' money *isn't* being held in a protected client account, which I think it should be.

Brits are 'lions led by donkeys' was the observation made by some perceptive German officers over 100 years ago.
Without being defeatist, things don't seem to have changed that much (with allowance for 500 pensioners in Parliament Sq).
There's no reason at all why Eve W would use Ebay. She won't have time for that. Or maybe she did once but has been completely put off listing anything by simple delivery? 😞

You could also head over to Birmingham in September for the ebay open. She's usually there.

@krafty-kreations thank you for saying that though. That is just the sort of thing we need to know about the person who says she is listening.

@guymafo thankyou. My old boss once said "if you won a million on the lottery you'd be miserable it wasn't more". Fair, but not miserable, just a bit dissappointed.
I refuse to be that person who gets walked all over. I have tried the SD model and can see why eBay want to do it, but it is woefully inadequate. Shutting up and putting up will not get us anywhere.
It's actually good to know she doesn't reply to people, I can work with that. Thanks for telling us.
Thats a really good question to ask as well. I have wondered the same thing about whether people use their own businesses. I know i would.
Now I don't generally dis women, but they both have one thing in common, they are not listening.
Keep calm, and carry on..

@moonlight-rhapsody hi moon, if the Minions were in charge i think all our worries would be over. Again it's good to know that responses are not being received. Customer service are not being trained, the community team are not told anything they can share. It is no wonder we are frustrated.
Thanks for sharing.

@lord_and_lady_m maybe I will, dressed as a Large letter.

Hahaha brilliant, royal mail account managers were there last year too, in their red uniform so maybe they could hold help you get the point across 🤣

Just as it's been for 20+ years.

@goodibags hi Goodi, very perceptive of the Germans.
Where else will Eve get her imperial size slot drill for her favourite resoration hobby? I expect she is put off by the high postage charged and hopes to make do with a metric one from China with 50p postage. It will last 5 minutes Eve....

There's a slogan that does the rounds amongst the tech-bros of CA (and wherever Zuck has now moved his operations). "Don't get high on your own supply!" Eve knows it.
I think baristas are similarly advised to limit their espresso intake. 15 of those and you're on the ceiling!

@lord_and_lady_m is it free? Is there a free buffet? Cake?
