Has anyone else noticed lack of sales since the buyer protection update 4th february 2025. I used to sell quite a lot and virtually sold nothing since 4th Feb. Can anyone else relate to this and what can we do?

Yes, a complete drop in sales since this stupid fee was introduced.

Came here just to see what's going on. My sales have tanked for the past 2 weeks but I'm a business seller so not sure if it's related to buyer protection but something is going on for sure!
Dropped at least 75%

My phone cable has died, so I just Googled it and ended up on a private listing on eBay.
Was about to click buy... and then I remembered.
Off to Amazon now.

If my experience is typical, as described here, then I am not surprised that so many are declaring a sharp downturn in sales. I am a private seller, I sold items to fund my collecting interests, so what I made on ebay I spent on ebay. My private seller income has dried-up so my spending has dried-up including spending on business sellers. It may be only coincidence but it comes on the back of a rapid series of changes ebay introduced for private sellers and I suspect ultimately it's the BPF that has discouraged sales alongside the delayed access to funds of sales that has hampered the cash flow. It seems pretty logical that a price hike (BPF) will make items less appealing to buy and hampering access to cash will mean people feeling less able to buy.
But it may be coincidence and there will be those, as always, bucking the trend. However, it seems that initially private sellers were moaning about poor sales and now we have business sellers declaring a downturn so there must be a cause somewhere?
But don't worry - ebay won't tolerate this for long and will correct things for the benefit of themselves, which means us; our success is their success.

Snap my sales have died since this fee, really fed up with Ebay ☹️, my friend was going to use ebay to sell some of her stuff shes been put off and she opened a Vinted account and within a week shes sold loads!
Plus the problem with getting delivered against your order, everyone being told to contact customer services to get your money, have we got to keep doing this when it goes wrong, vinted give you your money if you get good feedback to save you waiting for the 2 days but Ebay not copied this bit. Why is Ebay copying Vinted I thought Ebay were the leaders?

Not too different from before
before was dire too
Used to have flurry of sales for a month then nothing for a month so obviously eBay are controlling selling visibility etc
But I have noticed next to zero views for a very long time since the changes
now if I get a sale it’s like hallelujah perhaps it’s changing but no
worse than the slowest snail in the universe, well done ebay
took most of my stuff off

yes , not happy as my sales have decreased by 89% since eBay has changed what was working well for the last 18 years I have been selling
Anybideas on what or how we as sellers can challenge this?

I think there could be a viable legal challenge via Trading Standards.
I'll find one of my old posts and link it here.
But the challenge is as a buyer, not seller.
Shouldn't make too much difference for most of us though.

Oh there's loads of possible angles.
One I think I see is on business practices. When CS agents talk as much rubbish as they do, over the timescale made apparent by this forum and other areas then it becomes questionable as to whether gross incompetence, fraud or both combined are in play.
Consistent levels of misinformation.
And as transparency is a legal requirement they may well fail that.
