Custom delivery option disappeared

Have tried to list an item this afternoon and there is no option for custom delivery anymore, either that or I can’t see it?!? Any ideas?!?

You can still switch to the custom postage option by clicking on the 'Switch to advanced options' link, under the Postage set-up box. This worked for me today.

When you see the four boxes press one of the others and then click back on to postage only, the custom postage box will appear then and you can post as normal without SD.

I only list on a pc, so thanks for that info @kath3735_wxmjn  - it will help other app users wanting to know how to escape from Simple Delivery...😄

my bad!  I meant it for PC users as i do not have an app.    Do not even have a smart phone, just my trusty brick and my ancient computer!

lol, not to worry - no doubt someone will be along who knows what to do on the app. It's interesting that you click on one of the boxes to revert to custom postage on a pc. I hadn't thought of doing that.

Of course, if they hadn't come up with this wretched Simple Delivery scheme, none of us would be having all this bother!

so true, only discovered it by accident.  Had relisted a couple of items one day as normal and then later on the same day i could only see the SD choice, so as usual i messed around clicking everything in desperation!   I was at the point when i was thinking they had sneaked in SD completely and was prepared to delist everything as i will not be using it if/when it does appear.  Then one of my clicks hit the collection only box and i then pressed back on to postage only and lo and behold the custom box appeared like magic....

I immediately went to my Postages Preferences and deselected the cowboy show that goes under the name of Evri and this resulted in...

 

That's right, it wouldn't let me deselect Evri.

I deselected evri a few weeks ago for simple delivery but I'm afraid to mess with it to see if things have changed and then can't re-deselect it!

It might just be a glitch/temporary issue so might be worth trying again later or tomorrow.

Thanks for the response.  I went back an hour or so later and eventually managed to deselect Evri. 

It's all a joke though with eBay calling it 'Simple Delivery' as it's proving to be anything but.  Trying to list as of now is a nightmare especially if offering Free Postage. I'm currently having to go through all my Templates to see what amendments I need to make. Everything is being made over complicated. As if it wasn't bad enough trying to factor in the Buyer Protection fee when figuring out a cost to sell at, Sellers now how to try and figure out precisely what P&P option they've opted in or out of!

It's all endless, needless tinkering by eBay. Selling on this platform has become an unwanted chore and it really shouldn't be this way.

Yeah, its got really complicated, I've got several spreadsheets on the go now for one thing or another.

I adapted when the BPF and delayed payments came in but mandatory simple delivery might be the end for me.

And on top of that, as I'm going through my templates, I'm discovering that GSP has mysteriously been deselected on them all so I'm having to go in and switch GSP back on again. Madness.

I was told by eBay representative on Tuesday  that you can no longer opt out of simpler delivery on the app, you have to use a browser on your phone to use the website (not the app) to adjust postage options. A real faff.

I’ve had a tinker and think you can still create the listing in the app, but then tweak the postage on phone browser afterwards before going live with the listing, but not finalised it to properly test it yet.

Further to the above, I'm finding that I don't only have an issue with the GSP option in my templates...

The Delivery Details has 4 options in the template:

 

Upon amending and saving my templates to show 'Postage Only', I then went back to check them only to find that they hadn't been amended at all but instead had reverted back to 'Postage or collection in person'.  What is going on eBay?!

Yes, a few people have commented about this, and other options randomly deselecting/reselecting themselves... it is really annoying. Means you have to keep peering at your listings to make sure they're not up to something behind your back!

Not true

on my phone and on the iPad you can still use custom postage but you have to trick it to behave

C lick on collection only

then click back to postage only and by magic it’s back

Amended my Listings, as per my last, so actually attempting to do some listing is currently going as well as can be expected...

Can't help but think it's only a matter of time before the whole thing goes completely berserk, all our listings are wiped off the face of the earth... and all we are left with is, 'well, this is embarrassing'... 😄
