Someone found the dates yesterday and posted them. Just thought it made sense to make it easier to find.
It's in the Help Section under Opt out
Simple Delivery will be the only listing option as of 15th April and they will start adjusting current listings from the 7th April.
So at least we know where the Iceberg is now.

yes, you will get a QR code or a printable label. You cant do ANYTHING yourself now. You cant even pick your courier, you can say who you prefer, but if the buyer picks one where theres no drop off close to you TOUGH, you have to use it as Ebay override your choices AND there is a 3 day limit to posting once the item is paid for. So also we cannot charge for packaging which some people need specialised packaging for autographs / records / glass etc. All ridiculous.
31-03-2025 5:27 PM
Agree. You wont even be able to charge for the proper packaging which you need to post your items (myself likewise). I cant see how combined can work with the new way as Ebay. Currently you can buy 4 pay for 4 and we can refund the excess. But ebay will be providing a label for EACH sale by the sounds of it. I guess they will be taking a cut from the courier services so thats another way of increasing their income.
I hope people stop using ebay. I will once my relists are done
31-03-2025 5:31 PM
100% they will take a cut - Imagine the millions of items sent daily that they will be sending business to RM and Evri - they havent made any changes to help sellers, its all to get money for Ebay.

It mentions it on the email and message into the inbox. Doesnt say in what catagories and doesnt say what low value means. Ive just tried to list something (as a test) for 0.50p and it didnt exclude it!
31-03-2025 5:32 PM
So basically what I was trying to say is, you sell an item, ebay gives you a choice of postal services, what do you do if non of those services suit your item?
Give a refund?
31-03-2025 5:34 PM
Its tough, you have to use the label they send you by the looks of it. Or i suppsoe you could cancel the sale, but of course as a buyer you can leave negative feedback for ANYTHING and they would if selelrs cancelled. But as a seller we cant leave negatve feedback for anything, and negative will increase significantly if we have to cancel as the item isnt suitable or they tell you to use for eg Fedex and you dont have a drop off for 3 miles! Some couriers wont take / cover certain items - I dont suppose ebay care
31-03-2025 5:36 PM
Youll have to write the postcode on the parcel and match it up to the stickers when printed I guess. A big kurfuffle for everyone, just some ebay pocket millions more a year
31-03-2025 5:38 PM
But you pay for listings as a business seller. Ive read another thread about it. Its not cheap.
31-03-2025 5:43 PM
You are expected to guess the size and weight of what your parcel will be packaged I think - you have to select the size and weight when you list each item, it appears from having a little pay around. Very weary. Yes they also seem to think that because an item is under 750g it will go Tracked 48 large letter, not everything up to 750g is going to be under 2.5cm which is the biggest. I also see about auctions with your point - start an item tracked 48 - and itgoes over £150 in auction, do they automatically increase the postage they charge you and the seller??? Or does it get sent with the lower cover?? If its lost do ebay pay the buyer or do we?
31-03-2025 5:45 PM
Ive just tested a listing for a piece of card - with an autograph on it. £15. It said simple delivety - that is neither under £10 or bulky
31-03-2025 5:46 PM
If ebay provide the tracked postage label surely they should sort out issues, or what is the 75p buyer protection for (I know, I know, the 75p is for doing nothing, zero). GSP items get sorted by Ebay if they go astray or damaged
31-03-2025 5:50 PM
Thank You Toffeecat: I guess i will have to get a newish model now the old method is now redundant, Because ebay have changed all this, do you think they will pay for the divorce
31-03-2025 5:51 PM
Ahh wonderful more changes that no one wanted. This is going to be a terrible update, I use very specific options for postage as I don't take the items anywhere they are all arranged for collection by couriers that I pick and specify the times for, none of this will be available after this update.
Why can't eBay just leave things alone or at least allow an opt out option for people who are competent to arrange their own postage.

I wonder why so many people are upset by this. I mean, yes, from later this month I'm going to change all my items to local collection only, but I know that ebay has my back and soon everything will be great again. It's obvious. Once Simple Delivery is rolled out, next there'll be Simple Packing and each time I make a sale someone from ebay will come and put my item in a box for me, lots of padding, tape it up and put the SD label on. They'll even take it to the PO for me. Brilliant. Some naysayers out there will moan they don't like Simple Packing, but they'll be a minority.
Once SP is going well, then SS will be introduced. That's Simple Selection. The ebay staffer will come to my house, look around, "You've hardly used this", and before I have time to think, it'll be listed on ebay for me, using the world class AI to create the description. I'm not sure SS is an ideal acronym, for those who recall WW2, but let's look at the benefits.

It has to be under a tenner /100g or bulky (ie bigger than their max dimensions) This is what chat agent said. Custom postage can be used, as before

Simple Delivery is optional for items that are priced £10 or under and lightweight (100g or under) that can fit in an envelope.

Careful with your booleans. Many would assume / means 'or'. It has to be under a tenner AND less than 100g.
Clearly this is aimed at stamp and postcard sellers (who actually do very well on sites elsewhere). A lot of my items are less than a tenner, but I'd need to bulk buy helium balloons to get within the 100g limit.

Reading through this thread, my conclusion is that if ever there a misnomer, ebay's 'Simply Delivery' is it.
It should really be called 'pain-in-the-ass delivery' - because that is precisely what it is delivering for most of us!

I've got a warped sense of humour and have been wondering if "SIMPLE" Means something else to them, like
1) it's so complicated it will make everyone brain dead
2) they'd have to be simple to use it

Well, at least eBay didn't post this update on April 1st. : )
Hopefully they don't mind that I'll take my selling elsewhere as I have several thousand pounds of (genuine!) postage stamps on hand to use for packages to the USA, etc., and being able to give *heavily* discounted p&p to the buyer (~ 50% of actual postage cost) is a "make or break" to ensure a competitive cost vs. sellers in their own countries.
There's *no* reason not to keep the current "Simple Delivery optional" running other than to help eBay get its cut of the postage costs to add to the headline profit.
Not least because they *WILL* be exempting light items under £10 within the UK -- a totally arbitrary amount and one which will cause sellers to list as BINs rather than auctions since a penny over £10 and buyer or seller is pinged for an extra couple of quid. Silly, silly, silly...

This said about the low value items:
