Clarification on Listing Removal

Dear Community Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

Today, I noticed that a couple of my listings were removed by eBay. After thoroughly reviewing the message provided (below) and cross-checking my products against the UK safety regulations, I can confirm that my items fully comply with all applicable safety requirements. Additionally, I have explicitly excluded my products from being sold in the EU, Northern Ireland, and other international regions. Given this, I am unsure why my listings were removed. I suspect this might be an error in the system and would appreciate any clarification on this matter.

Below is the message I received for your reference:

Your listing didn't follow our Product Safety Policy

Recalled and other unsafe products aren't allowed on eBay.

What activity didn't follow the policy:
This item may not be sold because it has been recalled for safety reasons. To learn more about the recall affecting this product, please visit: GOV.UK Product Safety Alert

What you need to do next:
To avoid this issue in the future, ensure that your current and future listings follow this policy. Please refrain from relisting items that are not allowed.

What is the policy:
The following types of items aren’t allowed:

  • Items recalled by the manufacturer or any government agency
  • Items that pose a health or safety hazard as specified by any government agency
  • Items whose sale is prohibited by law due to health and safety concerns

If you ship items internationally, you need to comply with all applicable laws and regulations for the countries where you ship. We will remove any item that is reported as recalled or unsafe by regulatory authorities worldwide, including:

  • EU Product Safety Authorities
  • EU Commission (Safety Gate/RAPEX)
  • UK Office of Product Safety & Standards (OPSS)
  • Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)
  • US Consumer Product and Safety Commission (CPSC)
  • US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
  • Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC)

For more information, please visit our Product Safety Guidelines for Sellers.

Could you please help me understand the specific reason for the removal of my listings? If further clarification or documentation is required from my end, I would be happy to provide it.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

You need to contact Ebay.

This is a forum for discussion/questions between members.

Re: Clarification on Listing Removal

Were you selling the product in the link?  Namely a Chinese made Fast Charge USB-C Plug 20W Replacement Charger for iPhone 12 and Samsung; Model number: SP-TC78A

If so it appears to be subject to a product recall due to presenting a "serious risk of electric shock as it is not structurally sound and has insufficient creepage and clearance distances."

If so eBay, and any other platform or retailer, are duty bound to follow the government instruction and remove it from sale.

Re: Clarification on Listing Removal

No, my product is different.

I don't know if this could be due to GPSR or I should upload certifications on my listings?
