Bought a £200 pair of new Nike trainers; the lace's outer trim had been stretched around the back and was loose. My son, who already owns two pairs, spotted the fault immediately. I gave the seller negative feedback because he ignored my messages. I arranged a return through eBay; now they must go back to the authenticator via UPS, a carrier with no pickup stations near me. To make matters worse, eBay removed the negative feedback, likely to protect its poor auth
entication process. See the picture below: the blue trainers are from the eBay seller, the black ones are directly from Nike. The outer running lace has been stretched and is baggy.

eBay authentication just checks if the items are genuine
They don't inspect condition so a stretched lace wouldn't be raised as an issue
If you want a refund you will have to return them, the seller has to offer a selection of return labels including Royal Mail
Have you opened a case to get the label? If you can't use that label, contact eBay and ask for a Royal mail return label

This is it the seller didnt do ANYTHING...Ebay authenticators contacted me saying it's got go back to them and UPS is only choice...
Never again Ebay is such a nightmare now so over complicated and the sellers get away with murder.
They deserve a negative ...unfair it got taken down i posted pictures also.and just stated the facts.

Surely it would just be cheaper to buy a new pair of laces?

If they were used id agree that would be wear and tear but they were sold as new so are faulty, its unfortunately a bad online experience which happens every day.
The other alternative would have been a partial refund for the cost of the laces but these dont look like your standard £1.99 Asda laces but if they seller isn't responding a full return is probably the only way.
Its annoying that they got the feedback removed as it really does make you question the system.
