Private Seller’s will now have to incorporate the Buyer’s Fee into their selling price therefore, to all intents and purposes, the Seller’s Fee is now known as the Buyer’s Fee. And when, as a Private Seller, you do get paid - less than you were before obviously - eBay will be delaying your payout.
Rest assured eBay will continue to gaslight the general public with their ’Selling is now free on eBay!’ adverts.
Happy 2025 Everyone!

Buyer has to pay 4% plus 75p per item. So do we deduct 4% plus 75p from our selling price and obviously makes no difference to business sellers because nothing changes for them.

Unless I've got a faulty crystal ball, I can foresee a future when eBay introduces offers of up to 80% off Buyers Fees.

That's the one!
I'm guessing that you didn't have much luck with its pesky lottery numbers either.

Well, I won't be. I'm not in competition with anyone, just selling off my accumulated tat. if buyers don't want to pay eBays protection racket good luck to them. I'm certainly not going to pay it for them. I'm sure charity shops will benefit from eBays stupidity. Oh, and I won't as a buyer be subscribing to the protection racket either. If it's an item I want and there is protection added, I'll be shopping elsewhere.
