Changing my Payment Preference after buyer's bought my item

I've just sold a vehicle and originally opted for cash on collection,  but the buyer can't collect for a week and has offered to pay immediately if I can change it, but I can't work out how to do it. Anyone have an idea? Cheers.

Changing my Payment Preference after buyer's bought my item

That's not possible on a classified listing. Besides, any electronic payment is potentially reversible for up to 120 days following the transaction so an eBay "managed payment" is definitely not something the OP would want to accept!

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

Change it to what? A bank transfer?

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

You cannot,  and I would strongly recommend not accepting any different form of payment from your buyer for a vehicle,  other than cash or bank transfer.

No other payment is safe for vehicles.

I see, it's a scooter/moped and it's not running and he's not able to transport  it until after the Bank Holiday and I think he's just trying to give me my money as quickly as possible and I'm  assuming he means via ebay. He has 100% long excellent history on ebay but if I'm unable to actually change it through ebay as you're suggesting  I guess I'll just have to wait... Thanks for your help.

Whilst I'm not suggesting your potential buyer is out to scam you I can tell you that feedback history means nothing when it comes to judging whether a buyer will pose a problem or not.

Your safest options are cash or bank transfer as the payment cannot be reversed in either case. If your buyer is willing to pay via eBay there is no reason they cannot pay you via a bank transfer if paying you immediately is their main concern.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

Oh okay thank you. I was hoping I could do a bank transfer,  but I thought I'd read in ebay's rules that if you deal privately - 'outside' of their regulations they can take some action or other against you, cancel your  account or something.  It's frustrating  because as usual the automated help bot they have is too inflexible to give me a definitive answer to my particular  query, darn it!

Well my answer above still stands whether he has a 100% good buying history or not,  cash or bank transfers are the only safe methods of payments for vehicles.  Scooter/  moped fall under this umbrella.

It's not possible to pay via eBay checkout for this item,  if that's what they're trying to do.
