Can someone explain how I can confirm collection

I recently sold some wardrobes, buyer collected last Saturday.  He paid when Ebay accepted his offer automatically and I have already transferred the funds to my bank account but when I went onto the 'order page' it looks like he hasn't collected.

It's asking me for some code but I haven't got one, I found the email from Ebay that told me I had sold but no code or 6 digits on that either.  Will the buyer be able to leave feedback if I don't complete this?

Many thanks

Buyer should have brought code with them when they collected.

They can leave feedback anytime with 60 days from purchase.

Maybe message buyer for code,it will be under their "order details".

Buyer could also claim non receipt and get their money back.

Re: Can someone explain how I can confirm collection

OMG I didn't realise that could happen - that buyer could claim non receipt! I did message him the other day to ask if he didn't mind to give me some feedback but didn't get a reply (I gave him some buyer feedback) but I will definitely message again and ask for his 'buyer code' - is this a new thing?  I've sold stuff before that needed collecting and don't remember ever having to use a code but it was years ago.

Thankyou so much for your help. 😍

As you are so helpful - would you mind answering one more question? 🙏

I'm about to list a ton of clothing but haven't sold since the new 'Simple Delivery' kicked in - I've only chosen to use 'Royal Mail' but on the listing page somewhere I saw something I just don't understand, it doesn't say an exact postage amount but uses the word 'from' and then 'based on the service they select' - there should be only one option (Royal Mail) so why would the buyer be given another choice and why is there not a fixed price?

When I listed before it was much clearer, I knew the prices of large envelope, small parcel etc (weights and dimensions) but this is just confusing me.  Will attach screenshots.

Thank you again.

I think you need to read Ebay's guidance on Simple Delivery and then do an actual draft listing to see how it works for your job lot.

This  link below, explains how Simple Delivery works, and also it's good to look in eBay News >>  Announcements top left of this page,  as there have been changes / updates to SD.

Re: Can someone explain how I can confirm collection

There have been quite a lot of changes recently, especially with the new Simple Delivery.  Just type Simple Delivery into Help & Contact at the top of the page.  But there is quite a lot to take in so read a bit then go back so you understand it.

When you do a new listing when you input the price you want it will show the postage price - but it depends on the value <£100 or >£100.

No longer allowed to accept cash on collection so buyers must produce the code eBay gives them when collecting so you can put that onto the sales transaction. Should not let the item go before receiving the code as buyer could claim non-collection.  Am sure most buyers are reliable but there is no way of knowing which ones are not.

There are many new things you need to be aware of when listing with Simple Delivery.  But please do take the time to learn what has changed so you don't find yourself in a pickle.  And make sure you double check every part of your listing every time you list as eBay defaults to what suits them not necessarily you, e.g. dispatch window (defaults to 2 days and I change each listing to 3 days), whether you want to use Royal Mail exclusively or Evri exclusively or both.

Re: Can someone explain how I can confirm collection

Hiya, you're my favourite person on Ebay - you always help!!  Just clicked on that link and it says " Simple Delivery will be optional for items that are £20 or under, " - but I can't see anywhere to turn it off on the Listing page - not sure I want to yet but would be good to know. 😁

Re: Can someone explain how I can confirm collection

Simple Delivery is only optional on £20 and under items in certain categories (I don't think ebay has ever supplied a list) and its letter or large letter sized and 100g or less.
