Can ebay take money out of your account to refund a buyer?

Sold a gold gate bracelet which the buyer left feedback for, "as described and wife loves it". 3 weeks later i have a refund request for it not being as described. Ebay have sent them a return postage slip, do i seriously have to refund in this situation? Never had it in 20 years on ebay and definitely won't bother selling again if this can happen....thanks

Hi

sorry to jump on your post but I’m in a similar situation where the buyer has had a clinical machine for 3 weeks and has stated that initially she was fine with the machine but now after 3 weeks she has used it but isn’t happy and item is not as described. I feel sick

It shouldn't happen, i've stopped selling on there as it's not worth the risk every time you sell something.

You don't have a choice, they take the money regardless....

You need to make arrangements to get that item back from the buyer, presumably as it was collection it can't be posted so you will need to collect and make the refund at the same time.

Very few people would sell something of that value on ebay now that cash is not an accepted payment method.
