Buyers Protection has created a drop in the sale of used items for sellers & why is it required.

Why is there a requirement for eBay to implement aBuyers protection fee when a private seller sold item is tracked, insured and included in the cost with the delivery of certain couriers up to a certain value. Should the buyer wish to pay for the additional insurance compensation on more expensive items then give the Buyer the choice. I am now considering ending some listings and handing them over to charity .

The Buyer Protection Fee is a (very) thinly veiled way for ebay to make more money, nothing to do with protecting buyers who buy from private sellers.

As you say, they already have protection, also including the money back guarantee.
