Buyer is taking the p**s. Is there anyway of just cancelling it my end and getting it sent back by royal mail? It's been over a week since I posted the item he missed delivery Mon,Tues, and then collection Wed,Thurs,Fri. I messaged Wednesday asking why it's taking so long because payment is twonworking days after delivery and he said he was picking it up on Thursday and he still hasn't.

Maybe he has work or other commitments and can't get to the PO yet. I think it is kept for about 14 days before it is returned to sender.

Royal Mail return to sender after 18 days, there isn't a way of getting the package back before then.

For INRs, the eBay rule is that an attempted delivery counts as a delivery - and the INR is closed.
If eBay follows its own rules, they should pay out two days after the first attempted delivery - not if and when the buyer collects it from the PO.
It will be interesting to know whether attempted delivery triggers a payment.

Can confirm that an Attempted Delivery does not trigger a payment. My mum sold two items last week on her account, and shockingly both buyers failed to be home for their 48hr tracked parcels. Annoyingly one was a missed delivery on a Saturday. So she had to wait two days until Monday for the redelivery attempt which was successful plus a further two more days afterwards for payment to clear. 6 days in total waiting to get paid 🫠

I wonder what will happen if a parcel's not collected? In my experience, it takes ages to be returned because it sits at the PO for a couple of weeks, and then it's not top priority for return shipping speed. Under the 14 day rule, the seller will have received payment. To claw back the payment, the eBay system will have to recognise the delivery scan as being the seller's address, not the buyer's.
Interesting!
