Have eBay backtracked again?
I still have custom delivery option.

Really! You mean for all items, or just those which are exempt, that is, lightweight, oversize, and those under £10 in value?
If the latter, it would a welcome tech issue resolved, if the former it will have many shouting from the rooftops!😁

I think the wording eBay used was 'from Aug 6th...' which is not quite as definite as 'by', or 'on'.
If you haven't made any changes to your listings, they seem to keep their original Custom postage, even when they auto-renew. But sooner or later, they will update to Simple Delivery - some sellers have mentioned their items were switched over to SD when they sold/at the checkout.

I've literally just listed a new item, a mug and can use custom delivery. Yodel.

All items, e.g a mug

That's interesting! If I try to 'sell similar' from a listing that still has Custom postage, Simple Delivery is applied.
I'll try a new listing for something, and see what happens...

Same here.
Unable to escape SD by listing from scratch or selecting a different parcel type.
Any revision however tiny causes Custom Postage to revert to SD.
They have me completely roped and tied.

'They have me completely roped and tied.'
It does feel like the net is tightening around us... the last few sellers still on Custom postage will have to keep trying to evade capture, and make sure they take a different route to the post office, in case SD is lying in wait for them... 👾
Looks like @simplybygone is in with a chance of being the very last... 'I Am Legend' 😄

It got me yesterday... live listings in clothes/shoes category have been switched to SD... 👾
You can quickly spot if you've been taken over:-
SD listings on the Active page will say, + free postage (Free for buyer, you pay)
Non SD items still say, + postage (you pay)

Hi dept @department28
Yes, things do seem to be afoot. Some random bits seem to have changed, but no real pattern to it. There are some LL £1.55 that have changed, i suppose i had expected the £1.90s to change, but more wishful thinling to hope the £1.55 weren't going to be.
Ebay, you are no fun anymore! You begin to remind me of Micheal MacIntyre, you keep making jokes, but no one else is laughing.
They are going to be putting up inflation all on their own next month.

I currently have a 'time away from selling' banner up until eBay finally sort out the mess that is Simple Delivery. I checked today, and my listings for knitting patterns, (all of which should be exempt from Simple Delivery due to the size and weight), have been switched to Simple Delivery. If I feel like I want to sell again (!) and could be bothered changing all the listings, custom delivery is available. Thanks, but you shouldn't have changed them over in the first place. And yet, my free postage listings for books, clothes and ceramics - all items that should be covered by Simple Delivery - are STILL untouched showing Royal Mail 2nd class. This gets more farcical by the minute.
Looks like that banner might be here to stay.......................................
